I find it frustrating and extremely illogical that in this day and age JW's still claim, dispite all medical evidence of the contrary, that blood tranfusions are the same thing as eating blood, and that when the scripture says "abstain" from blood, that it also means blood transfusions and donating blood.
Not only that, but the fact that they are willing to sacrifice their own lives and those of their children because of this misinterpretation of scripture is infuriating.

I have to agree about the 1914, 1918, 1919 thing. I was always poor at going through the chronology, explaining it to a BS too.
That while sexual customs were dictated by society at large at the time in the Bible, even LOOKING at a boob could get you in trouble...

Many elders were confused over what EXACTLY constituted a sexual sin. Was it loose conduct, uncleanness or porneia?
I never really understood the real signifigance of the 24 elders in the book of Revelation.
I was pretty good at giving talks, making convincing presentations of WT doctrine. But the one thing I just couldn't do was Daniel 4 + Revelation 12 to get the 2520 years to 1914. I got that Daniel 4 was supposedly one of those "minor/major fulfillment" prophecies. But what legitimate reason do we have to connect that particular chapter to Revelation 12? Just the reference of the word "time" and the fact that, lo and behold, there are three and a half times mentioned in Rev but seven in Daniel? Is that it? That's not a very good connection. I hated having to explain that to people.

It might sound funny...but it was beards that actually led to me really thinking that something was wrong. I grew up a Witness so I didn't find many things 'funny' such as birthdays, blood, and even the chronology stuff. But after awhile, I started wondering what sort of whackos find it wrong to just wear a beard...so I did some research....and here I am now.

Why Michael the Archangel, at Jude 9, didn't dare bring a judgment against the Devil in abusive terms, if in fact he was Jesus Christ in heaven, whom God had exalted to a superior position and had kindly given him the name that is above every name (the name of God), so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue whould openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
So how could Michael really be Jesus?
being a jw kid was pretty confusing, most confusing of all was jw mathematics, why when we used to have 3 meetings a week (tuesday, thursday & sunday) they insisted on saying we had 5 just because some were twice as long and had an extra song.
