Issue Facing Apostates

Most of the stuff posted here is negative, hateful, and blasphemous against God.

Yeah, if God=Org, then maybe, but most people have a beef against the Org and don't think the Org=God. I'm an atheist, so how can I have a beef with god who doesn't ruddy well exist.

Even if many of you are right in saying that the JWs are wrong on many and important issues, that does not make you right.

Eh? Even if we're right it doesn't make us right. Rephrase you're not making sense.

So unless you are convinced that there is no biblical God you are facing serious trouble when you die or if the Lord comes during your lifetime. If you’re convinced there is no biblical God then I guess you’re okay if you end up being right.

And you'll have wasted your life. If the Lord doesn't come in my lifetime I suggest sensate touch therapy; six weeks of no sex to reset the bodies and hopefully cure your Lord of ejaculatory impotence.

The problem you apostates face either way is this: You are taking one heck of a risk and the consequences for failure could not be greater.

    What, greater than death? Death happens, has happened, will happen. No biggie. Or do you believe in a roastin' and toastin' god? That would suck, but only prove my point;

If god exists his lack of evidence for existence shows him to be playing a vast game of silly buggers, when he could prove it like *clicks fingers* and stop the suffering into the bargin.

Our lives are at risk. People are leading miserable lives. If that's less important than his ineffable plan, well, YOU bow down, I'll not worship anything like that.

PLEASE, before you start preaching away, explain to me the logic behind God's will as exposed in the first few chapters of creation. In the begining to the Tower of Babel. Make it make sense.

I don't consider myself at risk. I try to follow the biblical principles of having love for one's neighbors and even for one's enemies. I certainly don't always succeed and for this I ask forgiveness.

After reading The Mystery of Christ and Why we Don't Get it and In Search of Christian Freedom, I am finding myself more and more at peace with the idea of God. I still haven't changed my basic belief that God is love and that by practicing love we are closer to god.

Again, I know I don't always succeed at this.

(Above scene from Watchtower Society of God having humans murdered.)
What Does God Require of Us? Lesson 5 "What Is God's Purpose for the Earth?"

Yeah I agree, the above stuff is "negative, hateful, and blasphemous against God," but what do you expect from a religion praying that God will soon murder billions?

The way I see it is:

    Life is like Microsoft Word.

There is more than one way to justify a paragraph (live your life); a) using the mouse (strong belief in God and a particular religion) b)using control keys (strong belief in God, but lets forget any religious group) or c) a combination of both (totally atheistic).

But the end result is identical - a beautifully aligned paragraph (or a fulfilled life).

Just make sure that in the process you don't crash the computer (forget your manners) , or you're stuffed (probably arrested or sectioned)!

Enjoy your life, it is the only one you'll have.

The OT God and NT God are THE SAME GOD. Be careful here, you are treading the fine line of blasphemy against God, for which you can never be forgiven. I love you and do not want to see that happen to you.

Remember, too, that Jesus said BLESS those who curse you; DO GOOD to those that hate you....

All of you, so very often I see people return abuse for abuse, that is just exactly what God hates to see! LOVE each other, and FORGIVE!

    I LOVE all of you!

    G_k,

One of the most loving things a person can do for another is be honest. If someone acts like a jerk, call them a jerk. Perhaps they'll learn to treat others with respect if they wish to be respected. That's honest, and perhaps the most loving thing one can do for another. I sincerely wish the best for people, but that doesn't mean I need to put on some false pretence (like turning the other cheek) if someone insults others or my intelligence. Get real, and be honest--that's love far better than the Watchtower's conditional love!

I had so much to say in my reply, but as I read the thread, I saw that you guys have covered everything that I wanted to say. You guys are god. [;0]

The risk being what? That your "loving merciful God" will slaughter us and our children? That he will murder my 1 year old son? I think I'm better off not worshipping your God. He's beginning to sound a lot like Al Capone. In fact, when someone leaves the mafia, don't they kill them? Are we "spirtually" dead in your eyes?

GOD KNOWS - I LOVE YOU TOO!!

It is just a shame that most in my local congregation don't feel the same way, including my in-laws who no longer want to socialise with me, former "close" friends who refuse to see me in my own home (after I had invited THEM to dinner), and near neighbours (JW's) who repeatedly drive past me and my mother (at a distance of 2meters at a speed of around 15mph) and refuse to even look at us, even though we are waving at them, and the Elders wife who "encouraged" me at the KHall by saying that she thought "it better that my daughter die now rather than later".

There is not a lot more I can say to that. If you can't see that those in the congregations are so frightened to be friends with anyone but a JW - then you are a lost cause my friend. But I still LOVE YOU!!
