Sudden implosion is probably a better way to go than a long slow death as the oxygen runs out.

"Wasn't the CEO one of the passengers on this trip?"

Yes. He was the one piloting it.

"the craft was designed to reach depths of 4,000 meters (13,123 feet), where the Titanic rested. But, according to Lochridge, the passenger viewport was only certified for depths of up to 1,300 meters (4,265 feet), and OceanGate would not pay for the manufacturer to build a viewport certified for 4,000 meters."

I dont think he was right in the head..

He was quoted as stating his worst fear was a situation where he could not ascend to the surface. You'd think his worst fear would be descending to 3X the depth the viewport was rated for.

    Yeah.

Sudden implosion was probably painless and quick.

Better than slow and painfully and choking to death slowly.

Apparently they detected the implosion so knew the sub was toast on Sunday. The wreck was exactly as expected - directly below its last known position, and probably located within minutes of getting a submersible down there (as per James Cameron).

So why was it such a big news story for so long?

Well, wasn't there a hearing about corrupt pedo president Bidens crack-head money laundering son?

Nah, that couldn't be it ... we can totally trust the US government and the media.

    Timeline seems right

Communication and contact was lost at the same approximate time the US Navy detected an implosion in the area.

The men on that sub were already dead when the story broke about a sub losing contact.

    Sad.

My thoughts exactly. That should have been the very first and obvious place to look. Now all of a sudden after spending so much time and money and publicity, they solve the problem after time ran out. They must have known all along. Such events are tools politicians use to distract.

And less than 500 metres from the most easily accessible and popular spot on the Titanic - the ship’s bow!

First spot they would have looked. And they leak this info right as people were counting down the last minutes of the expected oxygen reserves for the desired dramatic effect.

    Pure Hollywood.

@TonusOH=> Yes! CEO Stockton Rush was in fact the PILOT in this expedition. As a matter of fact, he spoke about the operations of this "creation" in prior interviews:

I was wondering what all the attention on the sub was.

I even said to a few people that it was a media smokescreen for something else.

    The Bidens? Yes. Why not?

We all know Biden Jnr will get away with anything and any seeming chastisement is all pantomime.

I repeat George Carlin about our disgusting, corrupt politicians in this world (as usual), 'It's a big club and you aint in it!'

"I even said to a few people that it was a media smokescreen for something else."

Not EVERYTHING is a conspiracy. Sometimes it's just laziness. The sub story was on both conservative and liberal news outlets. Sometimes stories get blown up simply for the gawk factor.

In the summer of 2001 it was GW Bush in office and it was constant "breaking news" about every shark attack. Even a minor bite needing a few stitches. There were no more attacks than any other summer, but for a while it got eyes on the screen every time there was more "breaking news".

Really? Smokescreen for Biden? How would that work? They pull the heads of every news organization of every slant to a meeting at the whitehouse and lay out this nefarious plan? They even get right wing British tabloids to go along with it?
