  I think he thought of all people I would be cool with him and back him up. When I didn't and knew his game it was the ultimate betrayal.

  He treats Jill Adams with the same sanctimonious bullshit only that he disguises it carefully so that he doesn’t look to be bullying a woman. I agree that he was counting on you being an ally, and especially Jill, who had as recently as December 2021 helped him with his cancelled UK meetup. Jill even lost the deposit on the location.

  Him calling you a pornographer is rich especially since he’s currently accusing many exJWs of judgementalism and of being sexual prudes. Also as a longtime pornography consumer, I don’t get why of all people HE is taking issue with YOU. Yes you are a critic of his, but him preaching about your past rings about as hollow as a heavy smoker blaming all their health problems on the Phillip Morris Tobacco Company. Had you taken his side he’d be defending your past profession with vigour.

  When he was posting here he was huge on the bandwagon fallacy and would frequently name drop other posters who agreed with him, especially Paul Grundy. The problem he has run into now and why he’s a bit fucked is there is no longer a bandwagon of any prominence to appeal to. All his remaining defenders make up an odd hodgepodge of poor man’s Cedarites and newbies who are falling for his “Kim’s lies” fallacy. All the real activists have left him and I can’t really think of anyone who has made a YT video defending him besides that Jay the Comedian dingbat. He literally has no one left to collaborate with and this aborted documentary fiasco would have never happened if he had the support team he had as recently as December.

  Given his penchant for appealing to the bandwagon fallacy and the content of his recent posts, it’s apparent that he views the possibility of luring his wife back as having intrinsic value to his image rehabilitation. I don’t claim any inside knowledge of the current situation and for all I know she’s back with him already, but a few clues do exist. She evidently has no qualms about being used as a prop on his Twitter posts & he still publicly professes his love for her. Also hidden in that rant he released almost 2 weeks ago was the implication she was still working for him. There’s probably an equal mix of financial reasoning and emotional manipulation & I have my doubts we have seen the end of them as a couple.

  Mental health issues... now he has them,... now he doesn’t have them,... now he has them again... and so forth.

  It does seem rather convenient that Lloyd has mental health issues upon demand. Funny how they seem to magically go away when people give him the attention he thinks he is owed.

  A close friend told me about a meeting a few years back in the United Kingdom where Lloyd was not invited at first, but begged to be part of the meeting. The room was up a flight of stairs and it was Dijana that carried all of the video equipment while Lloyd carried nothing. Once in the room there was only a table with chairs around it. Lloyd insisted on a podium or lectern to stand behind and threatened to walk out and not cover it if one was not provided. Obviously this is hearsay coming from me, but if anybody knows more about this meeting or any like it, I would like to know more.

  This thread is going well. I’d missed it that Paul Grundy agreed with Evans. He hasn’t been vocal about that lately, has he? Maybe he has re-thought the issues?

  A close friend told me about a meeting a few years back in the United Kingdom where Lloyd was not invited at first, but begged to be part of the meeting.

  You have some of the details right. It was Steven Hassan’s “Undue Influence” symposium. And you know what you know because it was Marc Latham at the bottom of the stairs.

  It was circa 2014 and he was a relatively new activist. His daughter was very young. It was a few months after she was born and this was either during or shortly after his stint as AAWA president. I think after. He wasn’t earning much at the time and he still had one foot in the translation business and the other foot was starting to get wet with new donations.

  Anyway, Marc met him, Dijana and the newborn in the lobby. After Marc warmly greeted them all and was being playful with his daughter, Lloyd got distracted and was more worried about making it to the conference and setting himself up as a speaker. So he left Marc, Dijana and the baby in the pram down in the lobby and darted up the stairs. This place did not have a lift from the lobby to the floor where the conference was. So when Marc realised that Lloyd wasn’t coming back, together with Dijana they carried the pram with the baby in it up the stairs.

  Upstairs, Hassan was sitting at a conference table with chairs behind it. He agreed to let Lloyd sit behind it with him along with others but Lloyd insisted on using a podium like he did as a Kingdom Hall elder. He didn’t get what he wished for as this was Hassan’s event, so he sat there behind the table with a sour look on his face. When he started speaking no one could get him to shut up and he practically hijacked it. It was effectively the start of his activism career.

  It was also the last time he saw Marc on friendly terms. In 2015 the COC copyright theft scandal happened and Marc found himself on the outs with Lloyd. In one of his trademark FB rants, after disowning Marc as a friend and falsely claiming Marc was an evangelical fundamentalist out to discredit him due to his atheism, Lloyd clutched more than a few pearls saying he remembered Marc giving him a great bear hug the last time they met.

  So tragic. Now back to my drink and we’re watching Cobra Kai in a few minutes. Salut!

  I was at the event and can confirm the truth of it. Slight point of correction, I believe the event was set on and paid for by Richard Kelly, because I made a donation directly to Richard to help with the costs. Hassan was just invited to speak along with many others, it wasn’t his event, I don’t think.

  I found Hassan to be condescending shit and a beg friend for Amazon reviews. But that’s by the by.

  It’s only to be expected that the UK folks would have the inside track on all issues “Lloyd Evans”. Other than coming to Texas and having his picture taken in a cowboy hat, us USA people have no first-hand knowledge of him and have to hear about his background from his fellow countrymen.

  LMSA and Lou, thanks for fill in the details. I knew what my friend was telling me had to happen. Both making Dijana carry everything and insisting on a lectern sounds exactly like Lloyd. Also behaving like a total ass during the meeting is classic Lloyd Evans.

  Back then Lloyd was still fresh and not the cynical money chasing Jabba he is now, so to see him behave so cravenly seemed out of character for him (so we thought). I know Mike and Kim had him sussed long before many of us because of the way he had treated Shyla, and Marc and Cora soon came to know he was morally bankrupt because of their dealings with AAWA. It took me longer because of doing the podcast with him and him seeming smooth and articulate. It was only when I disagreed with him on a minor point that I realised what a callous emotionally redundant narcissist he was. In the beginning I wouldn’t have had the knowledge or insight to know he was a narcissist, but after a lot more research and reading I slowly came to know him for what he was and then past details that had seemed ‘out of character’ made complete sense.

  I then got on the merrygoround of calling him out every time there was a scandal, posting screenshots of his vile behaviour, being shouted down by people who hadnt been on the receiving end of his vicious petulant interactions, going quiet, rinse and repeat every few years.

  im thankful to Kim and producer Bob for putting the brakes on this merrygoround because it was making me feel sick and dizzy.

  Lou, so many people only saw the nice man in front of the camera. Even I thought maybe Lloyd had gotten better with time as I knew about the copyright theft of Crisis of Conscience. Now most of us see the fake man in front of the camera and the horror show he is with the camera off. Right now all Lloyd has are his enablers and the few that simply don't know any better. I am grateful to Kim Silvio and Producer Bob for their bravery.
