Additionally, JW's are quite happy to use violence when it suits them. This quote relates to a Convention held during WW2 where there was mob violence:

The Witnesses defended themselves and when the door was closed again, one attacker—“a large powerful man”—lay unconscious inside the building. He was a police officer and his picture was taken with his badge alongside his face. “We called the Red Cross,” says Brother Milford, “and they sent in two women with a stretcher and took him out. He was later heard to say, ‘I didn’t think they would fight.

Christadelphians even refused to take up arms when Jehovah's Witnesses still thought combatant service was OK as long as you didn't shoot to kill...

In order to silence Knorr's speech, several war veterans attempted to cut the phone line. A number of Witnesses, alerted to the threat, came out the rear door, reportedly armed with clubs and sticks, and a fight ensued. At least three Klamath Falls residents were injured seriously enough to be taken to the hospital.

Yes so if not JWs then which of the 30K are the true followers of Christ?

Formerbrother, are you genuinely asking a sincere question? .. or, are you using the question to try to prove a point?

Formerbrother, are you genuinely asking a sincere question? .. or, are you using the question to try to prove a point?

I think you are 'knocking on the door with this question' and getting real close to the nail with that hammer.

    Formerbrother ain't sounding so 'former'

ProLogos » You can't be serious, you believe in the talking snake story? I just wanted to pointed out the absurdity of it all.

Whether the talking snake story is true or whether it's metaphor or just a load of crock makes no difference. It's how the story relates to the culture that's the issue. You misrepresent the story and then ridicule it. If you choose to ridicule the talking snake, fine, have at it. But what you're doing is constructing a strawman, then attacking it and tearing it to pieces without any regard to accuracy.

    CS: "--You misrepresent the story

It is a great culture, (not the wt), that has developed under the auspices of the talking snake story, but the believers have to be shaken out of this basis of their belief. and i did not misrepresent the facts of the story. meat was not allowed until the flood. hence Abel sacrificed garbage, fertilizer at best. God did not command worship, it was a spontaneous action invented by humans. The bible story was the best guess at the time, we have moved on, and our actions, aka worship, should be based on what makes further progress. imho.

If we go with the premise that a god created man - why MUST that god be worshipped?

Who benefits from this worship - the god?

So this god, then, only created us to stroke his ego?

His motivation seems, shall we say, somewhat lacking.

    Are you a parent?

Did you tell your children: "Love me or die?"

In the entire history of all religion, how does that particular god benefit by being worshipped?

However, who does benefit from being the conduit to the one true religion? Watch Tower is no different from all the others.

Religion is a snare and a racket. Bring your chequebook.

The thing is the Gods are aliens. They are not from this earth.

So their true worshipers are whoever buy into this bullshxt.

Whoever does not know who the Gods are.

    Are the Gods true worshipers.

Because the Gods do not want you to know who they are.

The Gods true worshipers are JW's Catholics, Lutherans. Muslims, Hindus, Budhist and it goes on and on.

Whoever buys into the confusion are the Gods true worshipers.

It's how the story relates to the culture that's the issue.

It's been used for power by the Churches for years,

That's not a great plus point.
