lol Please... we don't wanna get into calling people ignorant. I'm not gonna sit here and go back and forth until it goes into blows.

It's my opinion and I ain't changin' it. That's just the bottom line. If I'm gonna be called ignorant and mental because of it, so be it.

    So be it.

And let me add this, your opinion is based on other people's findings. We can go back and forth and blow each others opinions out of the water. The fact is, new answers are being uncovered everyday. There are still new species being found in the rain forest. Still haven't discovered the depths of the sea. Scientist don't know everything. Hell, we have YET to find a cure for HIV.

My point is, I'm not gonna LIMIT myself to one explanation on every single thing based on what scientists say. Because just like me, they are still learning themselves.

I've never understood why so many people say that as if it is something to be proud of.

    Nickey,

Like I stated, it is my opinion. Nothing will change it.

Enter an absolutely uncritical mind. This statement above is so damning of your thinking skills that I'm beside myself. I honestly have no opinion that is unchangeable. If I were given real evidence that the sun actually moves around the earth I would then change my mind about the heliocentric model of our solar system. It's a long shot, but it is theoretically possible. Your experience with this "spirit" is immeasurably less documented and proven than that and yet you say you will never change your mind! Amazing.

What you say is true... HOWEVER, just like in mathematical equation... there are always various sums to come up with the same answer. Therefore I can be just as right as you are. If you wanna get scientific with it.

This is a common falacy that many creationists use, ie. trying to use scientific language to "prove" a point. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Mathematics and addition haven't a thing to do with "ghosts."

    Just because 2 + 2 = 4 doesn't mean 1 + 3 doesn't equal the same answer.

Well, at least you can add. There is more than one way to come up with the number four, but ghosts either exist or they don't. There is no in between.

I'm very open minded and a critical thinker. Just because I disagree with you doesn't make me any less.

    LMAO!

    Nick,

I'm not denying you saw what you saw. However, the mind is quite able to produce realistic visuals according to your thoughts or beliefs.

    logan,

All I can say is, that's your opinion. You can sit there and shoot of at the mouth with smart remarks all you want. But it don't do nothin' for you. And it sure don't do nothin' to me.

The fact that you misinterpreted my post as calling anyone ignorant is evidence that you are not reading carefully or you do not yet grasp logical argumentation and logical fallacies. In this instance you are most probably ignorant, but that is forgivable. The point is, though, that an 'argument from ignorance' is a type of logical fallacy, or a type of fallacious argumentation. It is not referring to a person.

The implications of such an error are left as an exercise for the readers.

    sixofnine,

I'm more so saying, I am not the type of person to crack and give in when others try to discredit my opinion. If I was that type of person, I'd still be a JW.

That is exactly my point as far as the way I've seen people try and insult others here. I'm not going to that level.

    Nickey,

Well, it's really not my opinion. I think I pointed out some logical fallacies with your posts and gave you something else to think about. (Please do look up the skeptics dictionary at www.skepdic.com Browse. Learn. Enjoy)

You truly may have had an otherworldly experience. But, your presentation of this experience has been very weak and your adamant, absolutistic statements betray a very poor knowledge of logic, science and common sense. Even if I did have a very realistic experience with something I couldn't explain, I would still be open to the possibility that a) my mind was going through some form of abnormality at the time or b) someone was playing a trick on me. So, even if you did have a real ghostly experience, you still are behaving illogically.

    logan,

I agree my presentation of my personal experience has been weak. And that is something I need to work on.

But I also notice here that the minute an opposing view is stated, it get's picked on like vultures and the insults come hurling. I simply said I respected everyone's opinions. I'm not sitting here calling anyone wrong.

I simply wanted to state my case, see what others had to say and leave it at that. Now I missed my movie time of seein' The Hulk.

    Dammit.

Thank you for your suggestion however.
