original Q
Wondering if anyone out there believes in the paranormal?
At the risk of being called a dumbshit, YES.
B U T I do not believe in ghosts. LOL!
I believe that for us to believe we are all there is, is silly. Also paranormal can cover a lot of territory. In another 1,000 or 2 years, we may not consider the same things "paranormal". We are constantly evolving. Thank god we are no longer burning women who are menopausal.

I think you'll find that Christians will be the first to confess there are "unknowns" (e.g. What's heaven like?).
But ya know, unlike when we were JW's and had to have an answer to everything, we can now rest easy in the certain (to us) knowledge that it's all taken care of, even if we don't have ready answers.1.Pet.3:15 is often quoted by JW's for having to have ready answers, but it only requires that we are ready to give an answer for the hope in us.
The answer for that would simply be that we have a relationship with Jesus - period. As for what "ghosts" are (if you don't mind me using that coverall expression), who knows?
I will simply venture that there are many unexplained things out there, which many try to pigeonhole to make some semblance of order out of their personal subjective reality. To some that pigeonhole is labelled "ghost". -

BadJerry,
Great post! You may have read my experiences that I listed regarding my grandmother, I saw her right the night she passed...as my mom says she had "unfinished business", I was part of that. For the first time in 10 years I told my mom what I saw, she broke down crying and told me that she saw her also, My Nana...confused on "where to go". She also saw her 1 more time, this time in her house dress with her favorite flower, she told her "Don't worry about Daddy, he will be fine", well my grandfather passed away less than 10 months later.
Now my Nana was a deeply religious person, she said to my Mom "It is beautiful, everything I ever imagined it to be." My Nana was a very wise woman, everyone who met her, instantly fell in love with her. She would tell it like it was, but was very loving when she did so. I can still remember the ONLY time she was upset with my brother and myself. Any way, my Nana used to say "Hell isnt a place where you go, Hell is never being able to see God's face".
Thanks for listening
