As a child when I still believed in spirits and demons, I was sure that I had seen a one.
As an adult I realize that what I saw was a figment of my imagination and that there is no such thing.

You saw a ghost standing/floating right there in front of you?
For longer than an instant? Not just something that you saw in the corner of your eye and was then gone? More than just an "odd" shadow in the corner of your room? Not just a sound or movement that you could not immediately explain?
It was just THERE for an extended period of time and clearly acting as an intelligent entity?

I don't know if your question was directed towards me or KGB. My "experience" was a fleeting one. I saw something that in a child's mind was a spirit. No, it did nothing that would demonstrate intelligence. Why? Because it was my imagination in overdrive.

I've often told myself the same thing. I'll never know for sure what I saw. Was it real? Was it LSD? Was it (according to my father) "an active imagination"?
I'll never know for sure exactly if what I saw actually happened or not.

I do believe in spirits - my favorites are Crown Royal and Absolut.

My question was directed at KGB... my point is that people who believe in ghosts and the supernatural in general want soooo much to believe that they will interpret anything they don't immediately understand as being of supernatural origin. Sort of arrogant when you think about it... "If I don't understand it, then it MUST be impossible and therefore of supernatural origin". They tend to do the same with magicians... if they cannot figure out how an illusion was done, then it MUST have been the "real deal" and truly magical and of a supernatural origin.
I remember when I was a teen there was a sister in the congregation who thought that holograms were demonized... so I let her watch me make one for her and explained the science behind how it worked. She was shocked and dumbfounded... and then no longer believed that holograms were demonized... because she understood them. Again, it was arrogance on her part. She thought that if she did not understand something, then it obviously was of supernatural origin.
I wish people would stop for a moment and consider the possibility that they don't understand everything... and not only that... be willing to explore and try to learn and understand instead of making up imaginary superstitions.

If you want to see ghosts or spirits, you'll see them. If you don't believe in them, you won't see them. Let the reader use discernment.
Remember, humans are highly suggestible.
