    of COURSE i know that paul anka is canadian. i had good taste, didn't i. i really am impressed with all the staying power he has had over the years.

    some others that i have seen are, mabel mercer, tom waits, peter/paul & mary, leo sayer, leon redbone, george carlin, jean-pierre rampal, and bobby short. pretty eclectic, eh?

    Many thanks for the reply. I was curious to know the venue you went to also. It's possible that I've got a recording of it, especially if it was a 1970 date ( Fillmore East thru the 'Cry Of Love' tour up to Maui ). Be cool to be able to say 'I've heard from somebody who was there' & all that. D'you have any special memories of what you saw?

    Agent, since I am a fader, I try not to give too much location information.

    It was a large venue close to a young population attending a large educational center. He died shortly thereafter. I was deaf for 3 days afterwards because I was so close to the stage. It was definitely out of character for me to go as a JW but things weren't as confining then about music and my JW family tended to be rebels then. I was amazed at the musicality of his performance, not like heavy metal (don't anyone hurt me now).
