"Muslim's can't be good because they believe the Quran and it's violent." - yeah but so is the Bible it doesn't mean there are no good Christians.

Totally different. Most of the biblical violence is historical stories, the final plot is a hippy peace love fest.

The bible goes from bad to better.

    - oh really? Bush and Blair's "crusade" in Iraq, which they prayed about, and were convinced God supported, and now millions are dead as a result. That wasn't violent on a scale above and beyond any extremist terror attack? But no, Christians are not violent, only Muslims of course.

You seem to be confusing "things people chose to do" with "things people do because their religion commands it".

Bush and Blair were both idiot assholes that were driven by politics. There is no way to tie conflicts in Iraq to the beliefs of Christianity.

I guess you can come to that warped conclusion if 1) you don't know Muslims personally and 2) you believe all the nonsense you see on right wing blogs and YouTube channels as your main source of information.

Two things: The Muslim you think might be your nice neighbour is not really your real friend anymore than the guy at the local car dealership is your friend even though he's super friendly if you go look at cars. They have the same outlook as JWs have - to put on a good appearance as part of the faith and also to deceive where they need to.

Secondly, your attempt to dismiss any criticism as "right wing blogs" is no different to the already tired and discredited attempt to just label everyone who isn't uber-left as a nazi.

The Bible gets better? In the NT Jesus said he brought a sword not peace, and to turn family members against one another. The last book Revelation says those who don't fall down and worship God and his lamb will be destroyed, and repeats it using various violent images.

You're really grasping. The core message of the NT is forgiveness. Sure, there are some magic-mushroom trips but most people's idea of Jesus is some peace loving hippy.

Let me ask you this: other than how willing they are to actually walk the talk, what do you think the difference between a "moderate" Muslim and a jihadist actually is?

oh really? Bush and Blair's "crusade" in Iraq, which they prayed about, and were convinced God supported, and now millions are dead as a result - you're right to put crusade in quotation marks. Yes, Bush and Blair are religious men, Christians of one kind or another. And yes, the Iraq invasion was very bad. Bush and Blair have blood on their hands.

But can it really be called a crusade?

They didn't try to convert Iraq to Christianity, did they?

They haven't poured billions of pounds/dollars into building churches in Iraq, have they?

    3. "There are practically no moderate Muslims anyway, look at all the survey evidence, they are violent monsters, open your eyes you fool,"

    - I guess you can come to that warped conclusion if 1) you don't know Muslims personally - I know several Muslims but not well.

My local takeaway/fish n chip shop is run by Sunni Muslims of Pakistani descent. They seem to be decent people but I don't know what they really think about things. They may be fully integrated, be proud of their country (UK), and think our democracy and freedoms are fab. OTOH, they may sympathise with terrorists and yearn for Sharia to rule Britain. Your guess is as good as mine.

and 2) you believe all the nonsense you see on right wing blogs and YouTube channels - some people don't need to read nonsense on right wing blogs to come to that conclusion. They just need to read the Qur'an and the Hadiths, and listen to what ex-Muslims have to say.

Jesus said if we don't hate mother and father and brother and sister, we are not his followers. Forsake them. Let the dead bury the dead. Don't look at the things behind. It's a prominent theme of the gospels.

If you are going to insist a real Muslim must follow extreme verses, why do you excuse Christians from the same?

A moderate Muslim has an enlightened view of the text, just the same as a Christian does.

There is as much scope to carve a violent interpretation of the Bible as there is the Quran, as two thousand years of history testifies.

"Crusade" is in quotation marks to indicate a quotation - from Bush. He stopped using the word when he was told it was politically inconvenient.

In what sense was the Iraq Invasion a crusade?

Bush and Blair didn't try to convert Iraq to Christianity, did they?

They haven't poured loads of money into building churches in Iraq, have they?

Please explain how the people following the doctrines the closest are not Muslims but those who follow them less are Muslims.

And where's the cut off ... at what point do people stop being Muslim all together?

For all the people defending Islam, no one has ever come up with any explanation of what the actual difference is and why some are called Muslims and some are not.
