    Please stop, Terry.

    I already said no.

    NO means NO.

OrphanCrow (and in reply to Terry on page 3), go easy on Terry because he says that all of us, himself included, don't know shit. I don't want this ruining my thread.

I didn't say we should hide anything. I asked in order to try and balance the downside against the benefit of airing personal grudges and such.

My post was not a personal attack, and there is no foundation or merit in the personal, negative responses.

That's all I have to say. If anybody has a problem with me, contact me privately like adults and work it out.

OrphanCrow: I think even the hint that someone is "like someone who would keep silent about child abuse" is extremely insulting and it's not surprising that someone would demand an apology - I think an apology is deserved and reasonably expected.

Demanding silence from someone instead is simply not fair.

Everyone is making their points. I might have to abandon answering each individually.
But a few from page 3:

tornapart, notsurewheretogo- we think alike. Don't play into WTS hands.

talesin, I find his attitude very prevalent in all that he says. It turns me away.

OTWO: But, there's more to the video than the book.
Indeed. Under the video is a link to an article at JWVictims.org that brings out extra details.

In case Cedars, Mr Evans, does read this thread, these are my 2 cents to him.

How you dress yourself and look, at home, fixing the car, mowing the lawn, grabbing a sandwich, or digging for worms, is your business.

When you ask us, your viewing public, to watch you as you narrate your video, you have no respect for us.

People have expected standards of dress. Is your ego so huge, that you think that does not apply to you? Do you present yourself 'just as you are' because it helps remind you when you were a little boy in diapers and people said, patting you on the head, what a cute little boy you are? You are a grown man now. More is expected from you. Who narrates their big important message, looking like they just got out of bed? Your outside image, detracts from what you are saying. Teeth are important to me. What I could see, you look grimy, like you hadn't even brushed your teeth, and therefore, were speaking to us with 'morning breath'. Bathing is important to me. In your tossled state of body and choice of clothes, you look (to me) like you slept in your clothes, in your trailer, down by the river.

Betterdaze, there is much more and some will wade through it all and some won't. I am not saying anything further to support Marc on past issues that I don't know enough about. If you have issues with the way he said and did things, I get it. But really, it's like Outlaw says right after your comment:

AAWA started out badly and went south from there..

There was no saving it with Cedars running amuck,he`s still Carrying On the Same Behavior..

Thanks Outlaw. Mindset seems to be the thing.

LoisLane, I like your response. I don't share your view, as I don't care how Cedars dresses and grooms, but the point is valid for you and many others, and I can see why.

    Lois Lane:

(I never was a JW). I don't really want to get into the Cedars thing.

But ... If you're tring to put across a message to rational thinking people, how you look is important.

When I was a cop (detective) I did lots of TV press releases and that sort of stuff. It's important that - if you want to portray a professional image to put across a serious message - you look the part. It's the same when you appear in court as a professional - look and act professional.

I know that the way one dresses and acts is superficial - but there are occasions when the way one looks and acts adds to (rather than detracts from) from the message.

I kind of heard about these rumblings for a few months. Since I'm not on any other boards, I'm usually the last to know about anything.

I have said all along, there is plenty of room in the exJW world for all types of communities. Because we were so used to the constant barrage of information starting with the "Daily Text" every day, after leaving, it seems for a bit we needed something to fill up that time space, at least that is what I've observed for the most part. So DB's were a place to go to learn, rant, commiserate.

Cedars seems to fill a void for many and many have said he has helped them on their exit from. Haven't seen it as the "voice for the silent majority(???)" myself, but it's one of the places that loads up in browser searches.

I watched Marc and Cora's video and also a video by Cedars about. To me Cedars was intentionally naive about the "ooops" of his CoC episode, (there are so many episodes). He's not that dumb...nobody is. Anything that will garner attention for him is basically his MO. But that's no secret...it's been that way from the get go. I felt a heartfelt attempt from Marc and Cora to set the record straight from their perspective. I think the two worlds (both types of "activism"), should still be able to get along...but maybe not at this time.

AAWA...uh boy. They sounded like an organization that could do some good work. The beginnings were rocky and quite dodgy. I was appalled at the dishonesty and flat out lies of some of the founders. I had not encountered that before in the exJW community so that happened. Are they still around? Is it a "charity" organization that funds the expenses and tax write-offs of international travel for the executives? Dunno. But it's run by a CPA who will make the most of it.
