the second group of anointed will not die off before the great tribulation. Nothing more is officially stated or implied.

Fischerman: that is the exact opposite of what Jesus taught about the last generation , all fulfillments.

He in effect, said that the last generation, overlapped or not, will pass away only after, or until the Great Tribulation, all, including the climax, has occurred.

Jesus puts the total of the Great Tribulation within the last old world generation, Wt/Fm excludes the GT from the anointed generation.

The "anointed" of 1914 theory has failed in all its predictions, get rid of it.

    documentation please

Vdh: try the Elijah to Elisha succession; wt applications.

The point is that the length of “this generation” is limited to the age of the second group of anointed.

The point is that the length of “this generation” is limited to the age of the second group of anointed. Fm.

Fischerman, David Splane discussed the age issue, and volunteered, that older anointed than Frere Frederick Franz are, and will be out there. That would include clandestine partakers like yours truly, that rubbed shoulders with him in his last decade. so,

doing the numbers again: 2 anointed, reaching the not uncommon age of 100 (we have one in our congregation) and overlapping by 20 years each ( or being age 20 in 1914), gives a length of the two overlapping groups of contemporaries as 160 years, thus reaching from 1914 to 2074 for the start of the GT, 2075 for all having occurred.

Perhaps David and you wanted to emphasize how close, soon paradise is, but end up to sink the hopes of most that are alive now, and wt sticks to its 1918/19 slogan: " millions now , in 2022, living will never die, "will not pass away"

Jesus was specific in saying that the generation will pass away, and when, ---- after the GT, not before, as wt at present prophecies.

The anointed will have to pass away to go to heaven as did the Christ. wt Mission impossible.

Given all the prophetic flip-flops and failures since the inception of the organization, why does anyone take anything they predict seriously?

Excellent point Waton! The generation Jesus talked about would experience the aforementioned composite sign as well as the events of the great tribulation. So "this generation" on the lips of Jesus, like all other instances in the gospel refers to the contemporaneous mass of evil opposers.

39 In reply he said to them: “A wicked and adulterous generation keeps on seeking a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Joʹnah the prophet.

In reply he said to them: “A wicked and adulterous generation keeps on seeking a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah the prophet."

Jesus outlined to his disciples the specific disasters that would precede the the great tribulation and finally the sign (abomination of desolation) for it's approach so his followers would flee Jerusalem at the right moment and avoid what would happen to wicked and adulterous people living at the time. So "this generation" refers to those who would experience the siege and onslaught of the Roman army.

FM - I know you're pulling our legs. Why not just admit that you're having fun spoofing us?

Valid dictionary definition seems to me.

All of these words are valid in a Dick'n'Harry, so it's has no authority; adds up to nothing.

Here are some other words in a Dick'n'Harry:

Cup. Artefact. Cat. Link. Paddle. Handcuffs. Bondage. Discipline.

In the first century, the disciples saw all the parts of Jesus’s prophecy being fulfilled and realized it was the sign he told them as they saw all those things occur whereas to everybody else of that wicked generation it wasn’t a sign nor did they realize it was nor concur with the apostles that it was. They rejected the preaching work and neither did they flee Jerusalem when they saw the Roman armies or believe it was a sign. To that evil generation the sign that Jesus gave to his disciples wasn’t a sign for them but it was for his disciples.

The sign that we @ JW have been preaching about all these years too although experienced by and affecting everyone like in the first century is not viewed as the sign of the last days either by people in general.
