With all this movement by the WTB&TS, it appears that their sincerity of compliance is at best, questionable

is Geoff Jackson an Aussie citizen? if so, can he be made to go to court in Victoria if charged?

Generally, you need to be physically present in the country. This is why people run to Canada or Mexico. They may be able to attach property left in Australia. Court orders are only a big joke unless a court can see them enforced. A police force helps. It gets complicated.

The problem is that the Governing Body cannot be penalized in Australia. The court can only seize property or individuals in Australia. I think the GB does not care if they can't visit Australia.

True. I don't know how to compare law in Aussieland, compared to the US, but they can seize property owned by the society should a sanction occur.

I think JWfacts really hit it on the head. How many elders are not going to pass the requirements, and why. That in itself is very very bad press. Imagine a number of elders already working with children have to step down, because the laws of the country, apparently, are better set for the protection of children then the "moral" criteria set for becoming an elder.

This is juicy, and there's no way out now. Someone isn't going to make the grade, and this organization is going to be percieved, as protecting the non complient elder, rather than the children

    ah yes, thanks

here is another as i dont know much about visa laws. As far as i can tell Jackson is an aussie citizen, ok so if charged he can not be forced to go to victoria to answer those charges as a member of the GB, but what woud happen to his US visa if he was convicted in his absence under the Working With Children laws. is their a possibilty of it being revoked on his return from a "zone vacation." ?

If you look at the wts' doctrine over time, they've changed the definition many times.

    http://www.watchtowerinformationservice.org/doctrine-changes/myth-of-the-faithful-and-discreet-slave/

    1881-FSD is Christ

    1896-FSD is Russell

    1927-FSD is WTS

1960-FSD has been the xian congregation since AD 33 (Forget the fact that we said it was Christ, then Russell, then wts!)

NEWEST LIGHT2011-FSD is a theological arrangement*

*In wts in-group language, "arrangement" means "procedure or method of doing something". Example: "donation arrangement"
