Incorrect, Atheist dont have a belief in god. thats all. The reason is the lack of evidence of his existence, but the same rule applies to everything, natural or supernatural.

Not to start an argument, but you're blowing smoke out your ass. Do a little more reading. I'd suggest these three to start with:

God is not Great, How Religion Poisons Everything, by Christopher Hitchens

The God Delusion, by Richard Dawkins

The End of Faith, by Sam Harris.

The power of human suggestion and emotion moves the planchette across the board.

The pre-suggestion being that spirits will move the piece to the correct answer where in actuality

the people are moving it around to the appropriate lettering.

When an answer has been correctly answered the participants are left with the thought suggestion

that wow this thing really does connect to the outside spiritual realm.

Remember all spiritual beliefs were derived from human ignorance of reality or the lack of knowledge of the world we live in,

even the great god almighty Yahweh of the ancient Israelites.

Human emotion attached to human ignorance creates what is known subconsciously as religion

Ouija board is a scam that has facilitated a lot of pain and suffering by "confirming" the paranormal in many minds... I have a moral objection to the game in that regard.

ok please provide evidence of your statement? have you seen my ass lately? or in the past?

you want me to do more reading? sure thanks, however suggestions about books are more useful of books that i havent read.

FYI I am an atheist. I dont believe in the supernatural not because I am an atheist but for the same reasons that make me one.

however i still would take your evidence.

As I said, I didn't want to start an argument, but you're still blowing smoke out your ass. (It's an expression, Cyberjesus, lighten up)

You are not an atheist is you believe in supernatural anything. Please provide a single quote from any of the three books you have apparently read which will support your contention that atheists have even the most miniscule belief in the paranormal. I'll wait.

    Atheism definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism

Atheism, most inclusively defined, is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist. [ 1 ] In a less broad sense, atheism is the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. [ 2 ] In its narrowest sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. [ 3 ] Atheism is contrasted with theism, [ 4 ] which in its most general form is the belief that at least one deity exists. [ 5 ] [ 6 ]

The term atheism originated from the Greek ?θεος (atheos), meaning "without god", which was applied with a negative connotation to those thought to reject the gods worshipped by the larger society. With the spread of freethought, skeptical inquiry, and subsequent increase in criticism of religion, application of the term narrowed in scope. The first individuals to identify themselves as "atheist" appeared in the 18th century. [ 7 ]

Today, about 2.3% of the world's population describes itself as atheist, while a further 11.9% is described as nonreligious. [ 8 ] Between 64% and 65% of Japanese are atheists, agnostics, or do not believe in God. [ 9 ] In Europe, the estimated percentage of atheists, agnostics and other nonbelievers in a personal god ranges as low as single digits in Poland, Romania, Cyprus, and some other countries, [ 10 ] and up to 85% in Sweden (where 17% identify themselves as atheists), 80% in Denmark, 72% in Norway, and 60% in Finland. [ 9 ]

Atheists tend to lean toward skepticism regarding supernatural claims, citing a lack of empirical evidence. Atheists have offered several rationales for not believing in any deity. These include the problem of evil, the argument from inconsistent revelations, and the argument from nonbelief. Other arguments for atheism range from the philosophical to the social to the historical. Although some atheists have adopted secular philosophies, [ 11 ] [ 12 ] there is no one ideology or set of behaviors to which all atheists adhere. [ 13 ]

In Western culture, atheists are frequently assumed to be exclusively irreligious or unspiritual. [ 14 ] However, atheism also figures in certain religious and spiritual belief systems, such as Jainism, some forms of Buddhism that do not advocate belief in gods, [ 15 ] and Hinduism that holds atheism to be valid but difficult to follow spiritually. [ 16 ]

    ------

Thus, while many atheists deny anything of a spiritual nature exists, some do allow for it, just not gods.
