No Mad, the WT Society claim to be a "Prophet", as the quote provided proved, and they refer to themselves as a "prophet-like" organization.

You imply they only do the latter. They don't. They do BOTH.

One thing is absolutely clear, the Society are condemned in this by their own words. Let's "do the math":

They claim to be a prophet + they explicitly said that those who wrongly predict the end are "false prophets" and that motive is irrelevant = The WTBTS is by it's own standards a 'false prophet'.

This unwitting self-condemnation is handy, but not the main point. The main point is that they also totally fit the OT and NT definitions of a "False Prophet". For true Christians, that's all that really matters. For JW's the Society's self-condemnation should be enough to wake them up. For us it's just a very funny bonus.

Most of the predictions of the Old Testament prophets didn't happen, either, so Jeremiah was just a pot calling a kettle black. You prefer the pot, and JWs prefer the kettle. Same difference. They're still the same color.

No one in the Bible called Jesus, "Immanuel", to name just one small example. "Moses" talking in the book of Genesis about the "Kings" of Israel IN THE PAST TENSE when they didn't start ruling for another 450 years is another example.

If the JW's prefer the kettle, they need to face up to what that kettle represents a False Prophet

"Yes Alice, the principle of that Mosaic Law is don't purposefully mislead people. The JW Organization has done it time and time again. It's one thing to say something that's wrong, it's another to tell people that the end is coming and then list dates. God disapproved of what Hananiah did, why would he not disapprove of the JW organization doing the same exact thing?

If you ordered a pepperoni pizza and they gave you a guarantee it would be here within a half hour or the pizza is free, what would you think of the pizza company if they showed up in two hours with an anchovie pizza and still made you pay for it? I doubt you'd be ordering from them anytime soon."

During the Mosaic era God's initial instructions were the Ten Commandments. Concerning the first set of tablets, it is stated that they not only were made by Jehovah but were also “written on by God’s finger,” evidently denoting God’s spirit.

Now as soon as he had finished speaking with him on Mount Si′nai he proceeded to give Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone written on by God’s finger. Exodus 31:18

This should provide some insight as to how Jehovah communicated with nation of Israel. Now that the Bible cannon is sealed, direct communication isn't a means of communication used in modern society.

“Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to you in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize those [men]. Matthew 7:15-20

As long as Jehovah's Witnesses consistently teach the whole truth and display the fruits of the spirit, they're not in the spotlight of Jesus' descriptive words in Matthew 7:15-20 and they can make a statement about the future without unjust criticism deterring people from the truth. The family members I know that served at Bethel said the Governing Body were men of tremendous character. Whatever the case, I resister with what a person teaches from the Bible, not insignificant idiosyncrasies people exploit that have been thoroughly settled.

As long as Jehovah's Witnesses consistently teach the lie and corrupt the fruits of the spirit by wrapping the lie in a false garment of light, they're completely in the spotlight of Jesus' descriptive words in Matthew 7:15-20:

    A Tree and Its Fruit

15 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Alice, your wrong, Jesus says so at Matt. 24:23-26. The Watchtower Society can't have their history of falsely predicting and proclaiming the return of Christ and escape being identified as False Prophets.

"At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time. "So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it."

But you don't care what Jesus said, do you?

Gee Alice, maybe in addition to getting some professional help, you should also try reading the literature that the religion you claim you belong to, puts out:

"...JEHOVAH is a God of truth. He does not compromise with error. No crisis can panic him into abandoning his principles of truth for the sake of expediency...... No threat can make him view the difference between truth and error as petty and insignificant, thus making a merger of the two seem justifiable under such circumstances."----February 1, 1952 Watchtower p. 69 par. 1

"...Jesus warned the disciples against the false teachings of the Jewish religionists and spoke of their doctrine as yeast. Hence the warning: "A little yeast ferments the whole lump." (2 Cor. 6:14; Gal. 5:9; Matt. 16:5-12, NW) Zeal for God must be "according to accurate knowledge," and without it Jehovah's people are destroyed.-Rom. 10:2, NW; Hos. 4:6.-----February 15, 1955 Watchtower p. 115 par. 8

    Nice quote Mary.

It's amazing how much Alice's argument rests what the Society calls "human reasoning" and on ignoring explicit Scriptures which are inconvenient to her as well as ignoring self-condemnatory statements in the Watchtower where they unwittingly but undeniably identified themselves as 'False Prophets'.

The Society outs themselves as False Prophets - Alice doesn't care.

The Bible - both NT and OT shows them to be as 'False Prophets' - Alice doesn't care.

So, Alice says 5% tainted (I totally dispute your percentages Alice, but whatever) "will never change" the 95% untainted - but Jesus says "a little leaven ferments the whole lump" and the Society says God "does not compromise with error" nothing can make God see any "error as petty or insignificant". But Alice doesn't care.

Maybe it's about time you stopped "leaning on your own understanding", Alice? Clearly it's not doing you any good.
