    Yes misocup. Men using God as a cover for their bad behaviour. Same old story "It was God that made us do it." And they are still doing it today, using religion as their cover for abuse.

    The rape commander. I like that description. Goes well with all the other accurate titles of Perry's murderous sky daddy.

    Perry is a example of the mess a person can get into when they fill their head with nonsense, believing that it is the Word of God.

    On the previous thread he stated that the Bible was the unchangeable Word of God. When challenged on the many versions of the ever evolving Bible, and asked which particular version he had, he gave no answer.

    Other, smarter and more slippery Christians, openly state that the Bible is not the Word of God but that Jesus is. Still a delusion but a neat get out of explaining embarrassing Old Testament texts.

    Isaiah 13

    1 An oracle concerning Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz saw:

    2 Raise a banner on a bare hilltop,
    shout to them;
    beckon to them
    to enter the gates of the nobles.

    3 I have commanded my holy ones;
    I have summoned my warriors to carry out my wrath
    those who rejoice in my triumph.

    4 Listen, a noise on the mountains,
    like that of a great multitude!
    Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms,
    like nations massing together!
    The LORD Almighty is mustering
    an army for war.

    5 They come from faraway lands,
    from the ends of the heavens—
    the LORD and the weapons of his wrath—
    to destroy the whole country.

    6 Wail, for the day of the LORD is near;
    it will come like destruction from the Almighty. [a]

    7 Because of this, all hands will go limp,
    every man's heart will melt.

    8 Terror will seize them,
    pain and anguish will grip them;
    they will writhe like a woman in labor.
    They will look aghast at each other,
    their faces aflame.

    9 See, the day of the LORD is coming
    —a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—
    to make the land desolate
    and destroy the sinners within it.

    10 The stars of heaven and their constellations
    will not show their light.
    The rising sun will be darkened
    and the moon will not give its light.

    11 I will punish the world for its evil,
    the wicked for their sins.
    I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty
    and will humble the pride of the ruthless.

    12 I will make man scarcer than pure gold,
    more rare than the gold of Ophir.

    13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble;
    and the earth will shake from its place
    at the wrath of the LORD Almighty,
    in the day of his burning anger.

    14 Like a hunted gazelle,
    like sheep without a shepherd,
    each will return to his own people,
    each will flee to his native land.

    15 Whoever is captured will be thrust through;
    all who are caught will fall by the sword.

    16 Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes;
    their houses will be looted and their wives ravished.

    Or as other bibles translate 16...

    King James Bible
    Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.

    New Living Translation(©2007)
    Their little children will be dashed to death before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked, and their wives will be raped.

    GOD'S WORD® Translation(©1995)
    Their little children will be smashed to death right before their eyes. Their houses will be looted and their wives raped.

    Bible in Basic English
    Their young children will be broken up before their eyes; their goods will be taken away, and their wives made the property of others.

    Young's Literal Translation
    And their sucklings are dashed to pieces before their eyes, Spoiled are their houses, and their wives lain with.

    Well... Jump for f***ing joy! Be joyful and rejoice! (See verse 3)

    Sky daddy didn't command anyone to rape the baby infants before they were slaughtered so I guess sky daddy can't be all that bad.

    Thus, we can clearly see that the Holy Bible dignified even captive gentile women by elevating them to the same status as that of married Israelite women.

    Yeah. That's right. The Isrealites brought back tens of thousands of VIRGINS (not just women.. but virgins).. so they could be "elevated and dignified".

    Wow. Just... wow.

    I know that we have discussed this before, but the NT is clear in a few places about the issue of "corruption" in the OT.

    Jesus rebuked the scribes.

    Paul mentiones that if the OC had worked ( the people of Israel had remained faithful to the word of God) there would have been no need for a NC.

    Some ask how I can reconcile the OT God and the NT God, it's not easy nor is it simple because we must see the horrific acts attributed to God.

    But taking what we see in OUR very own day and age and seeing how the word of God is perverted to justify horrific acts, I don't see a reason NOT to believe that may have been the case 3000 years ago, perhaps even more so.

    Jesus HAD to come because the word of God that was "getting out" was NOT the true word of God.

    Jesus HAD to come because the word of God that was "getting out" was NOT the true word of God.

    I might rephrase that just a little:

    Jesus HAD to come because the word of God that was "getting out" was NOT the word of the true God.

    There is very little to make me believe Jesus didn't intend to show his disciples that the Jewish god was NOT HIS FATHER. He went along with their culture only as far as necessary to avoid being completely shunned. THEN, he stepped over the line, both claiming and demonstrating his divinity, and the volcano-god worshippers killed him for it.

    He was the ultimate representative of his Father, as much God as it is possible to be and remain a visible entity within our universe. He never once is recorded as saying the god the Jews worshipped was his Father.

    (Some days I believe this; others I think the entire Bible is hogwash. I like the idea but I'm not married to it.)
