the last memorial i attended, about 3-4 yrs ago,
i was across the border in canada, never had
been to the KH before, and i heard someone
call the "only for memorial" attendees "submarines"
because they only surface once a year....
too loving for my tastes
Out of town on business. Will hit a casino that night and get rich lol!

A friend of mine has been studying with the witness and she was invited to go to the memorial. So I offered to go with her so she wouldn't be stuck with the JW only. The witnesses don't know me because it has been 9 years and I don't live where I did when I was a JW. So this should be interesting. I will let the witnesses know it was rather boring compaired to easter celebrations I've had with other Churches. I'm going to wear slacks and blouse. The ladies wanted Liz to wear a dress but I don't own one and am not buying one just for them.

Well in a real 'Hello McFly' moment.......
I aided in the stuff an invite in every door of the territory campaign this week (finished today)..... stuffing here, stuffing there...
Of course I know what the Memorial is about so I really didn't look inside until today......!!!!
Our Memorial will be held at 9:15 PM!!!!
9:15 on a school night!
9:15 in a congregation with a significant number of members who can't drive after dark!
9:15 is the most utterly stoopid time to hold this 'event of magnitude'! Why the hell didn't we just rent a hotel conference room!
Needless to say I am 'outraged' and it just goes to show everybody that they really don't care about attendance........ thusly I will be allegedly 'attending' the Memorial elsewhere earlier (probably my kitchen)! By 9:15 kiddos and hubby will be asleep and I will be posting here!
I guess this serves as warning to all lurking conscious class..... don't wear headphones/MP3 during 'annoucements' !!!

This will be the 10 th memorial I’ve missed since I left the witnesses.
The witnesses were too lazy to come to my door. I found my invite in the letter box!!
Wifey and I are going out for a meal and some dwinkies, safe in the knowledge that as we miss the Memorial for the second year, we will not run into Witlesses . Bliss.
I'm thinking of having a mock aposta-party with some friends....some saltines...a little grape juice....a lot of society bashing and laughter :P
I still think it's hilarious that my parents never even mentioned the memorial to me ONCE. I need my dad to do my taxes for me, but I don't want to call him now until after the memorial because I'm truly intrigued by the fact that they haven't invited me and I want to see if they'll even remember last minute. I don't know whether to be ecstatic or offended lol ecstatic would be because they must seemingly respect my decision to leave and not try to badger me about coming to any meetings (or even the most "important" night of the year). Offended because if they were so sincere about their own beliefs, why wouldn't they try harder to bring me "back"?
Meh. I guess I really don't care and am just glad that they've left me alone regarding the religion. I do still think it's amusing tho that they haven't told me about the memorial lolol (even if just to mention THEY were going lol)
