I told my ex husband - and he said dont be silly you know this does not apply to disfellowshipped ones but they cant print that because it would confuse the public. - its a brick wall. Your letter is valid and true but sadly it will probably be viewed with the eyes of a satan letter before it even gets read. how sad. :(

To get back to the topic , this Awake may have an impact or it may not.

Either the statement that "no one should have to choose between family and their beliefs" is now official wts policy or it is not.

Which is it to be?

Either the witnesses accept this and act accordingly to everyone INCLUDING those jw family who have left or,

they accept that it's not official wts policy and is in fact a very sick piece of public relations spin doctoring.

I propose that evey ex jw on this forum contact their friends and family and form a similar letter to mine and see what happens.

Outcome?

Perhaps they get some contact they didn't have before or,

perhaps they start to see how this organization really operates.

There is not much stronger than the smell of BS mixed with hypocrisy.

by the way, Jesus is a myth and not deserving of my devotion. IMO. I use the F word next to Jesus every day as I work in profanity as some work in paints. As in Jesus Fing christ when something makes me ticked. Like when the dubbers knock first thing I yell is Jesus fing christ who the hell is at the jesus fing door?

The issue of whether or not your believe Jesus is entirely separate from the rules of this website which clearly state that the use of profane language is not allowed.

Anyway back to the real issue (and not perry getting gay with his jesus statue... Lends a whole different meaning to 'and him impaled...' doesn't it perry?) So, I sent a copy to my mom. I didn't say anything or write anything else i just printed it out highlighted it and mailed it, no telling if it will have any effect but who knows another crack...

I wonder if there is still time for them to yank this magazine or edit that comment though? Maybe we should have waited until people had copies in their hands?

Ask your jw how many other policies or doctrines does he think would 'confuse' the public if they were honest at the doors? I would love to hear a dubs answer to that.

This is not a thread for bashing Jesus. He would not treat anybody, prostitutes, tax collectors the way the Jews believed they had to.

This is about the hypocrisy of a man-made cult.

Hobo Ken - That was a brilliant letter. I really hope it stirs things up a bit. There are too many of us having to cop the shunning of our families because of the selfish (evil really) man made policy of the Watchtower organisation, which they made to suit their ulterior motives of keeping members no matter what the cost to families. My family too is shunning me and my husband and son even though we are not df'd or da'd, just because we told them when given an ultimatum that we were not going back to JWs. The hard thing is in trying to reach a JW's heart and as Mr Flipper has referred to on other threads - their authentic personality. The wall around a JW's heart and mind is quite hard to break through and make them see what shunning does to us on a personal, human level. I think it is because they are so hardened to humans outside of JW (in fact they can't wait for them to die) and we just get lumped in with them, so we become just another statistic that is going to die at Armageddon instead of their real live flesh and blood, feeling and hurting daughter, son, sister and brother etc.

PS I started this thread hoping this article and our comments might help some of us to get through to our relatives who are shunning us and also that any JWs who happen to read this forum might have another little niggling doubt about the WT policies from seeing this. So I feel it's best if we stay on topic on this thread and don't turn off any JWs etc who may read it by the Jesus bashing or profanity thing - please.

Wow, that is unbelievable. I have so much pent up rage against the WTS right now I can't believe it. I can't believe I never used to see the hypocrisy and double-speak in their literature.

To those who are currently being shunned by family and friends - please continue to use this article to show the hypocrisy of the WTS! My immediate family still think I believe but when the time comes I hope to use this article.
