Well one of the few positive things I can take away from my JW experience is the ability to know when I am being love bombed, that wasn't the case there, they were just genuinely sincere people.
I went for several reasons, but mainly out of curiosity just to see what it was all about.

I'm no psychiatrist but when you hear about people who go from a gay lifestyle to straight, get married and have kids and it APPEARS to be working....I think they were bisexual to start with and have just chosen to not act on homosexual feelings.
Then you have the 100%, absolutely no way in hell AT ALL attracted to the opposite sex types. Like my older brother. There's NO WAY he can change. The most he can do (and did) was put a padlock on his pants for over ten years. It's what his loving Watchtower God required.

But, if they are the opposite--caring and loving--then they are "bad".
They can be caring, but what is their motivation? Why do they do what they do? What beliefs drive their behavior? Would they be endorsing "ex-gay" programs if the bible didn't tell them so?
What do JWs do when someone new shows up at the hall? They are super caring and friendly. Does that make the Botchtower cult ok, because they are caring when you enter the door?

yeah but that's a phony caring.

But the "Botchtower Cult" is not OK for a thousand different reasons, number one it is a cult that teaches shunning.

I heard of gays trying to change their orientation by looking at porn. If it were possible, shouldn't that enlarge the appropriate brain parts, not to mention other parts?

personally I would be endorsing Ex-Gay programs even if there was no bible.

If people are born gay that's fine with me. If they choose the lifestyle that's ok with me too. It's none of my business. What happens in the bedrooms of consenting adults has no impact whatever on my personal quality of life.

And NARTH is a secular organization, not bible based (at least I think)

Funny how you don't see this wide spread abnormality in other species. It's a good thing ducks, for example, don't have corrupted legislatures and courts to tell them how they were designed to behave.
