Oh jedi master. *sigh* If we are going to live forever, why do you think that this earth has enough to keep mankind interested forever? This planet is only of limited size, so at some point, we will have learned everything earth has to offer. It may take 200,000 years, it may take 200,000,000,000,000 years but either way there is still an eternity ahead. And thats assuming everyone is interested in learning everything. Also, if earth is all there is, why did Jehovah create a never ending universe with hundreds of billion galaxies?

Mr majestic: I understand what you're saying. I came across this site and started a thread in the hope of a reasoned, sensible debate. But that went out of the window straight away when people started saying things like "genitals falling off", "being barbie and kens", "Jehovah will kill babies" etc. I'd laugh if it wasn't so pitiful. I don't think I'll be bothered with this site, there must be a better one somewhere else.

I understand how you must be feeling nemail. If you are a dedicated JW and happy about the organization then this might not be the site for you. I am sure that there are more JW friendly sites around.

You kinda fell into the "nest of vipers" here. But don’t take what has been said personally. It is the organisation that people are angry with for one reason or another.

Welcome to the board.

I do not wish to engage in a doctrinal debate about whether or not people will get married after armageddon, however you have come here for that and I implore you to keep an open mind and not automatically assume the worst about people.

People would not waste time on this board if they new nothing or had no history with the witnesses. Do not judge people here by comments they make and misread humour as misunderstanding or lack of knowledge until you have gotten to know their personalities.

Your questions here presuppose that the rest of the universe must have a specific purpose, and that that purpose must be of specific benefit to humans. At the same time, they dismiss that the order of the rest of the universe may indeed be crucial for the Earth's formation with the ability to support life. Both of these problems are due to the attempt of applying religious concepts to scientific topics.

nemail, many people on this site are not Witnesses. Some never have been. Some are. Of any of those groups, some are here for serious discussion, and others are here to socialise and have fun. Unfortunately, your question happens to lend itself to some degree of jest because it is entirely theoretical and hypothetical, even among JWs.

Good question, I think I'll bless you with an answer (and I don't care if you think it's valid).

I am here cuz I like to be here.

I am here because of the people on this board, a fine group of people of different backgrounds, ages, religions or no, politics, sexual orientations, marital status, race (though we have discuss whether there is such a thing ), etc...(I may have missed a catagory).

I am here because there are like minded people here who know the turth about the so-called "truth".

I am here because of the support and love that is shown time and time again on this board.

I am here because of the smart people who keep me updated (yeah the stupid newlight) though most times I really don't give a whoot.

I am here because it's a relaxing place to be to waste a few minutes when I'm not being a wife of a husband who is on disability, mother of four kids, or an overnight grocery stocker.

I am here because no one can tell me not to be, I'm not in fear of being found out by the elders and marked or shunned.

That's why I am here and have been for quite a while. Sorry you can't guilt me into leaving here.
