    Hi Greg

Of course more Palestinians were killed by other Muslim Arabs in Jordan in 1970 Black September than at Sabra and Chatilla in Lebanon. The Palestinians grievances were commandeered by thugs who resorted to terrorism and violence and destabilised first Jordan and then Lebanon, at least partially contributing to the war there and the disastrous way it was prosecuted by the PLO. The destruction of the Palestinian refugee camps was carried on from before the Israeli Invasion of Lebanon and after it. In fact the Shiite Amal militia lay siege to the the Sabra and Chatilla refugee camps in Lebanon in 1985 with artillery fire and killed massive numbers of Palestinians. Many of the Palestinian refugees in the diaspora are understandably wary of upsetting their Muslim brothers (the corrupt regimes) at whose pleasure they are allowed to exist in the various refugee camps, often devoid of rights. It is reported by Hroub that the Palestinian Authority was a worse human rights abuser than Israel. But of course it all stems from the initial ethnic cleansing of the 1948 war, and although there were possibly three massacres of Jewish people in that war, there were vastly greater numbers of Palestinians, both Muslim and Christians, massacred by the terror organisations under the banner of Zion, such as the Lehi and Irgun.

There is a vast array of information available but you do have to search for it since the Israeli side has a vastly superior grasp of communicating in English, to English speakers, monopolising the discourse. I would simply ask that you make your own searches and do some in depth reading with an open mind.

I do not support Islamism as the forcible imposition of Islamic government upon unwilling people. But at least in the case of the Palestinian people voting Hamas, I understand it to be a defence mechanism against the territorial and demographic claims Israel in pursuance of it's policy of Zionism.

By the way, the Naturei Karta movement of Judaism regards ZIonism as one of the worst forms of idolatory. There is a strong body of Jewish anti-Zionist literature, such as Uri Davis, Apartheid Israel, Zed Books, 2003. I am also interested in the case of Tali Fahima - a Jewish woman who believes that Hebrews and Arabs can live together and who acted as a human shield for the head of the Al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade in opposition to the Israeli policy of assasinations. At first I didn't know what to make of this but when you look at it it's a powerful statement against racialism.

    Regards

PS nobody can condone the killing of children. However I believe that Israel does have a policy of killing Palestinian civilians including children, as part of it's demographic warfare against the Palestinians. Israel tries to keep the occupied territories in a state of low level warfare and ethnic cleansing, encouraging emigration of Palestinians, prohibiting immigration of Palestinians, encouraging Aliyah - Jewish Immigration and settlement by Oleh Jewish settlers, with US taxpayer funds, administered by the World Zionist Organisation and Jewish Agency, with constitutional mandates to settle the 93% of Israel which is public lands (confiscated from Palestinians by the Absentee Property Law (1950)) and which by law can be settled by Jews and only by Jews. Who is a Jew is defined by orthodox Judaism (has a Jewish mother and has not renounced the faith) and includes the legal blood definitions of including a spouse of a Jew and their children and grandchildren and their spouses. No doubt the plan is that these technically non-Jews will of course marry Jews and then everybody will be happily Jewish. What a ridiculous worldview. No wonder many Jewish Israelis are starting to call themselves Palestinian Hebrews.

PS Gregor I do not propose Islamism as the solution to the world's problems. I simply note that many Palestinians see it as an organisational strength which is the solution to them for dealing with a problem which is in big measure the responsibility of the West, the setting aside of Palestine as a Zionist state for the Jewish people and not for the Palestinians, and pursuit of an religious ideology (zionism) which excludes all possibility of Hebrews and Arabs living together.

I do not support suicide bombings, which is one tactic of demographic warfare - like I do not support Israeli artillery attacks on Gaza which are apparently being fired at some 5000 shells per month killing scores of civilians, many more than are killed by Qassam rocket fire.

The rise in Islamism is stated by Hamas to be necessary in order to fight metal (Zionism) with metal (Islamism).

This is the way they understand the conflict.
