I personally loved the "experience" of the young ones "showing how they did not go to college"

The girl that lived in Paterson, NJ said "I work in a school tutoring program..... and the teachers are always nagging me with "you gotta go to college AWAY FROM YOUR PARENTS"..... "

This was a perfect example of a embellished personal experience. I have done plenty of demo's and exper.. to know that it is well coached and the words are changed per the CO's wishes

I have JW relatives who are quite happy to admit having a computer but are quick to add "but I'm not connected to the internet".

UncB, I agree. I have elder relatives, each of which have very expensive computer systems, yet do not have internet access or at the very most have heavy

restrictions on it's usage for their children. One elder family in particular, all share the same email account. So if I send an email to one, they all read it! I kinda found out about their

email protocol the hard way! hehe.

I don't get it though. What's the point in having a nice computer with no internet? Paying bills online is such an evil thing to do?

in this area, owing a computer and being connected tothe net in any way marks you. I have seen people literally cut offf a conversation b/c someone said they used the net.

Really, iti s probably similar to what happened when the TV and phone first became used. They are all satans tools and can be used for bad.

Brothers, Jehovah is preparing us for a spiritual warfare by means of the daily text.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! It also has the same ACCURACY as the HORROSCOPE you read in the daily newspaper!

Then he says, "What's this? Negative talk about the Governing Body? I don't need this, the society mentioned about apostates opposing us on the Internet. I think I'll go to the official website of the Watchower"

Man, that's really going to help drive people to the internet and do a search, especially any young ones who want OUT of the cult. The numbers will continue to fall.

speaker announced that the youngest getting baptized was just 10 years old.

Sadly, my 13 year old niece is getting baptized at this convention :(

I just remembered something hilarious. About ten years ago, when I had already been on the net for a couple of years. My aunt and uncle in Buffalo NY were more or less housebound. I bought them a WebTV. (Anyone remember those?) I figured it would be a great thing for them--

I spent about $300 plus a ton on the monthly subscription service. I even (!!!!!) showed them how to go to the Watchtower website. Something rings in my ears. When I told my aunt (then 70) about the gift I had brought them, she said, "I know all about the Internet! The Awake had an article on it!)

Anyhow, I spent about three days there showing them how to use it.

About a month later, I went back to check on them and see how they were enjoying their new toy. It was unplugged and in a box on the kitchen table.

It seems one day when she turned the thing on, she hit what I beleive was the 'tutorial' button and the WebTV spoke to her. It said, "Where do you want to go today?" (Anyone remember that old Microsoft promo?)

Well that was enough to convince her that the damn internet was demonic.

    Isn't that hilarious?

Only the older JWs say they aren't on the internet, and it is only because they lack the technical savvy.

If you go to the expense of getting a computer, you get on the internet if only to send e-mails and/or pictures to family and friends.

I live in a university area and JWs 60 and under have computers and are on the internet.

The internet is one of the bigger reasons the WTS is losing influence. If it isn't computer porn, it's surfing the net for dates at the JW dating sites, or the young JWs on myspace or other sites. Who will know? It is too easy to conceal (unless you have 'spies' in house).

Every elder and MS I knew had internet access...and what about your employment?

Blondie (the WTS breeds hypocrites and hypocrisy)

When the WTS was last spouting "Beware the Voice of Strangers", I predicted a spike of new members here. And I was right.

Then he says, "What's this? Negative talk about the Governing Body? I don't need this, the society mentioned about apostates opposing us on the Internet. I think I'll go to the official website of the Watchower"

I forgotwhosaid this: If I'd heard this presented this way, I'd have been the first to go running to the internet to check it out. It doesn't out and say "do NOT go on the internet and research JW
Again, the WTS does our work for us. By specifically telling the JW's what to stay away from, they will not be able to stay away. At least any who have more curiosity than chimps.
