Holy crap, they're dropping like flies!

If he truly was one of the guys who steered the org in the opposite direction, the flock is in for even more spankings. Membership is already starting to turn, let's hope Dan's death speeds it up.

As for being sorry about his death, I'm not. He was among a group of men who ran my miserable childhood. He may have just been too dumb to learn that you can only help people who WANT to change.

Just returned from St. Mary's Catholic Church; lit a few candles for Danny, said 3 Hail Mary's and many more Amens.

As the more moderate GB members die off the remaining members will tighten the grip they have on JWs. This in turn will only lead to even more people leaving the WTS.

They are killing their own organization through cruelty.

Barber will outlive them all. I've heard he is referred to as the "Apostle John" of the GB, in that he will live until Je-bus returns. :-)

I wonder who's going to fill his seat.

With the recent deaths the average age of a GB member will plummet, so I'd say it's less likely any one in the GB will "fill their seat" in any given GB session.

Barber is 101 on July 4th and Barr is deep in his 90s. As Abbaddon says, over the next few years the average age of the GB must surely drop markedly

    1935 is no longer tenable

Geez, what a man. A man who COULD HAVE stood up for truth and justice...yet chose to remain loyal to the lethal policy makers of the most ill, fraudulent religious organization of our time...KUDOS DAN. DAN THE F_____CKING MAN!

THESE CHILDREN DIED SUPPORTING THE WATCHTOWER'S BLOOD POLICY

    Adrian Yeattes, 15 years

    Lenea Martinez, 12 years

    Lisa Kosack, 12 years

    Wyndham Cook, 15 years

    Dan Christian Andersen, 15 years

    And for what reason?

Because the Watchtower Society, our leaders, have decided that having a blood transfusion is a mortal sin, our young ones are indoctrinated to believe that those who accept blood transfusions to save their lives will be killed by Jehovah God at Armageddon, which will come very soon. They are also told that blood transfusions do not really save lives, but pollute recipients, give them AIDS and hepatitis and may even transfer to them the personality of a criminal blood donor.

A witness who accepts a blood transfusion will likely be disfellowshipped, which means none of his former Witness friends will be able to greet him, talk to him or eat with him - not even close family members unless they happen to live under the same roof.

As parents we are taught that if we save the lives of our children by secretly accepting a blood transfusion, God may punish us right now by making our children stillborn or will at least kill them in the soon-to-come Battle of Armageddon, when they will become manure on the ground.

UNTIL 1952, the Society told us the same thing about vaccinations. UNTIL 1980, the Society told us the same thing about organ transplants. NOW, these medical practices are permitted. Those who were loyal to these rules spilled their blood in vain .

Will you sacrifice your child over this issue? If you answer yes, stop and consider how you will feel when the Society finally abandons the doctrine.

You can read the tragic stories of these young Watchtower victims in the May 22, 1994 Awake magazine.

"Geeze I don't believe you guys, you're crying over the death of a monster."

I don't think any of the GB memerbs are monsters. Deluded, misquided, self-righteous, yes, but not monsters. They believe they are doing the right thing. That doesn't absolve them of responsibility, of course, or make anything OK, but being a monster implies being a sadist - which Dan Sydlik was not. Some of us have good memories of him - and I think it is apropriate to acknowledge him through that.

    Welcome
    to the
    Watchtower Victims Memorial

The Watchtower Victims Memorial is dedicated to the memory of Jehovah's Witnesses and their minor children who died as a result of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society's organizational decrees banning blood transfusions, organ transplants, skin grafts and vaccinations. To add a name to this memorial please contact us.

Note: The Watchtower Victimes Memorial was originated and hosted by another web site several years ago. We have obtained the files and are updating them as time permits.
    Unknown Victims
THE NAMES listed in this Memorial constitute only a small sampling of the victims who should be included, according to published statistics. Relatively few cases come to the attention of the news media because a police accident report was involved or because doctors asked courts to intervene. When adult JWs are admitted privately to hospitals and sign legal release papers, their deaths due to refusing blood are generally recorded only in confidential patient files. Published obituaries usually omit such details. Names are listed here if reported in the public news media or if submitted by relatives, friends, or other knowledgeable individuals who vouch for the information.
