Zealous preaching
by punkofnice ini've been away from all things jobo for years.
i have little interest in them...perhaps some slight interest due to being raised in the corporation.. in my day, the preaching work was hammered into us relentlessly.
we felt obligated to go door knocking as much as possible.

The Great KH Sell-Off
by snugglebunny inre the great kh sell off: could a congregation refuse to sign over their kingdom hall to the society?
i seem to recall - many years ago admittedly - that my home kh had been paid for by voluntary donations, no loans being involved.
i have no idea what the situation is now, but i do recall that many jw's contributed a set amount every month to the kh fund until there was enough money in the pot to build one.

I've made my decision...
by Jeff1 ini've only made one topic post prior to this one and for the past two months i've been reading practically everyone's posts.
im not one to rush into anything so when i found out about the arc, multiple lawsuits, keeping pedophiles hidden, and 587 bc being the actual date jerusalem fell i decided to research everything myself.
i've always admired the beroeans as they made it their aim to research and see if the things they heard were true.

Vulcan--Here Is To Freedom!
by Atlantis ini thought i would grab the computer chair while atlantis is grilling burgers.. every now and then, i feel it's refreshing to step away from the depressing watchtower world and get a breath of clean air.. everyone has something they are interested in, without ever having to mention the words "jehovah's witnesses" or "organization".usually when i leave texas to visit atlantis, i will give petra a call and ask if she would like for me to swing by her place and pick her up.it's nice to take a break from working on these all the time.. https://www.internationaltrucks.com/trucks/lonestar .
petra on the other hand, is working on something like this.. .

Does the GB/WT now ,ever talk about 6,000 years of human history ?
by smiddy3 inin c.t.russell`s time it was supposed to have ended in the late 1880`s ,when jesus christ was supposed to have returned in 1874 ,and armageddon was to have happened in 1914 according to wt publications back then .. around about 1968/9 they amended that time frame to the year 1975 as the end of 6000 years of human history ,and they said in their publications that it would be an appropriate time for christ jesus to begin his 1000 year rule over the earth.. which would align with wt teaching that a creative day was 7,000 years long.. i think the book was "life everlasting in freedom of the sons of god " wtb&ts .
my question is : do they still talk about 6,000 of human history ?.
do they still talk about 7,000 years as a creative day ?

'Organisation is our mother'
by EdenOne ini need your help please, for an article i'm writing.. i believe that quite recently in the 2010's, possibly at one of the annual meetings of the watchtower, there was one speech (or was it in a publication?
in a broadcast?
) where it was stated that the "organisation is our mother".
