As a Witness, we could not "associate" with anyone practicing "immorality"--------ESPECIALLY if the person was a homosexual or lesbian. Do you still feel it is "wrong"?

My hubby and I have a few good friends who are gay and trusted our friendship enough to come out to us first.

Can a gay man understand why straight men generally don't like flamboyance?I would be friends with a gay person if I couldn't tell he was gay if I didn't know him.Flamboyant gays are weird to me and over the top,and immature.IMHO
PS-don't try to deny that this exists, and I am trying not to stereotype people.

You just don't want them to "act gay".

It seems a bit of a ludicrous question, on the face of it, but nonetheless is worthy to be asked, given where we've all come from.
Even as a JW I had a number of friends (albeit kept at arms-length in typical JW fashion) whom I knew were gay. Frankly, race, gender and sexuality don't even come into the equation, when it comes to me choosing friends.

I have been and am friends with a small number of gays, male and female, and real bisexuals.
We have camping trips every year and I'm usually one of the only straights in a group of 10-20.
Yes, they question my own orientation at times, but not the ones that truly know me. They know I like the ladies way too much.

When I worked for the US Federal Courts in MA, I made two very close friends who were openly gay. We ate lunch together and often chatted and "hung out".
When TALIA died, they were both there at the funeral and it made me cry to see them because they had not forgotten me or my little girl.
Just remember, a human being IS a human being. A person's tastes, preferences, ideas, beliefs, expressions have nothing to do with the natural ability to love, to be charitable, to demonstrate kindness/compassion, to be humanitarian/philanthropic, to be altruistic or to extend mercy.
We should really stop judging, period. -

Of someone is Gay or not would not influence my friendship with him.
