    I think being gay is a condition of the heart, not unlike any other charaterological aspect of being human. I think you're born with a lean towards that lifestyle. I can't say whether it is right or wrong, I know what the scriptures say regarding homosexuality, but as in life as in many other things, I don't take the bible as the final word on all things.

    Someone being gay or not would have nothing to do with me choosing to be friends with them.



    It always bothered me that I felt I had to give in to the borg and let them pick and choose my friends for me.

    Can a gay man understand why straight men generally don't like flamboyance?I would be friends with a gay person if I couldn't tell he was gay if I didn't know him.Flamboyant gays are weird to me and over the top,and immature.IMHO

    PS-don't try to deny that this exists,and I am trying not to stereotype people.

    1. Usually someone who is this uncomfortable is worried about their own masculinity.

    2. Here in LA we have many hetrosexual men that are flamboyant. They're called metrosexuals. They get manis and pedis, hire stylists etc etc etc. (PS don't try to deny that they don't exist)

    I had no problem with gay men. But I did have a problem with gay women (lesbians). The problem lay in my own sexual and personal identity due to being molested by a woman when I was 10 or 11. Once I dealt with that, no problems.

    Some of our closest friends and best relationships are with gay men. We even had a dear friend (who is gay) perform our marriage ceremony.

    While I was a JW I worked with a gay man who considered me his "best friend". Sure we had some heavy duty conversations as I stupidly showed him scriptures in Leviticus that condemed his way of life. Thankfully he did not hold that against me.

    I had a best friend while I was JW and he was JW as well and .. he wore silk shirts... had japanese decor in his room and loved to shop. He never peaked when I would change in the car to go to a club. I later found out he was/is gay. It didn't change my opinion of him. I still loved him. However I wouldn't want to know.... details. But fair is fair.. i don't share details either.
