  hi from a newbie!

  hi everyone, i have been "lurking" for a week or so and thought i'd join the fun.

  i am a third generation jw who was determined not to make my kids the fourth!

  my husband and i left almost five years ago and have never looked back and as a result have never been happier.. just a quick summary of the past thirteen years.... i never went to college (never even considered it) and was married two weeks after graduating from high school.

  Where Do I Stand?

  i officially quit all spiritual functions with the jw's almost 5 years ago,at the time i was a ms, my wife and kids are still very active however i have never been announced as deleted are anything.

  dosen't there have to be an accounting of my inactivity?.

  any thoughts!

  Is God Faithful?

  god is by definition all knowing.

  as an omniscient being, what is there that would require faith on god's part?.

  god tells us in the bible to be like him... "be ye perfect, even as your father in heaven is perfect".. .

  My parents just split up

  i don't know why i'm writing this post.... it's not for sympathy...please do not offer any.... after 33 years of marriage, my parents have finally decided it's all over.

  they seperated last week.. i won't go into details....but it's what they both want.

  in a sense i feel happy for them.

  the curse of expecting perfectionism.

  we feel annoyed or angry when people don't meet the expectations we put on them.

  and even when our expectations are met we don't always feel very good about it.

  The Father's Name

  hi, i'm new to this forum; im not a jehovah witness and was reading a book called you can live forever in paradise on earth.

  in chapter 22, page 185, when teaching the importance of knowing the name of the father (jehovah), the watchtower bible and tract society says: in fact, knowing that name is necessary for salvation, as the bible says.

  romans 10: 13,14. my question is: if knowing that the father's name (jehovah) is necessary for salvation; why even in their bible the new world translation, would jesus used the terms "my father," "our father," and "the father" when teaching about and praying to his father?.

  Grieving

  i have grieved over many deaths in my short life, but now i am grieving over what i once believed.

  i'm past the anger now, so here comes the denial, and then the guilt.

  does anybody have one of those "men in black" memory eraser pen flashing dealies?
