Sheri Sheppard spoke about this as a ex jw how it affects a person to be dfd,you feel like you loose your identity, its very difficult, I see my son struggling, i wish this practice can be done away with,so hurtful for everyone.
A little background, I faded in 2007 and have been out ever since. I started studying at 18 and have no JW realitives. I'm returing because my life is heading in the wrong direction. Although I no longer believe in the Bible, the atmosphere and positive association will help me become the person I use to be. My time as a JW was the only time in my life when I had friends and was genuinely happy.
Ok this is it. If you could teach me one thing to convince me not to believe what would it be? For instance what has the WT taught about evolution/science or mans existence that is wrong and could possibly change skmeones mind? And the more important question, why is it a creator couldnt allow for species to evolve?
I enjoy the odd thread about evoloution vs creation, etc but lately it seems that a large percentage of threads here devolve into fighting between Atheists and Theists and distract from what most of us here see eye to eye on, the WT and related things. I wish things could be more civil here and fr people to realize that people will never see eye to eye on the topic.
