I thought this would be easier to examine if written down:

EXTRACT FROM DC 2011/2, FRI. A.M. TALK #2 "How We Know God's Kingdom Will Come Soon."

    Download - http://www.sendspace.com/file/rh8gbd

Approx. 15:06 mins in, after the interviews with the old-timers.

So far we've examined two lines of evidence indicating that God's kingdom will come soon. We've seen how world conditions at Revelation 6 and how people's attitudes at 2 Timothy 3 prove the nearness of God's kingdom.

But there's still a third line of evidence. That's the development among God's people themselves. Now we know the resurrection of the anointed began shortly after Christ was enthroned in 1914. But not all the anointed have completed their earthly course. The reason that this is relevant is because something that we read, again in Revelation chapter 6. This time we start in verse 9. Let's go back to Revelation 6 ... notice as we read 9 through 11 ... [reads]. So here, the Scriptures are describing two parts of the same group whose lives would overlap - those anointed already in heaven and those still here on the earth. Interestingly, this is consistent with Jesus' words at Matthew 24 verse 34 where he stated, "This generation will by no means pass away, until all these things occur."

Now the obvious question is, to what generation was Jesus referring and what does this have to do with Revelation chapter 6? Well, like Revelation, the generation that Jesus was referring to also consists of two groups of people whose lives would overlap. Group 1 of this generation discerned the sign of Christ's presence in 1914. But they weren't merely born in 1914 nor merely alive to witness the start of Christ's presence. They were spirit-anointed in or before 1914. Therefore, the generation Jesus referred to saw the start of the last days. The second group are those that will see the end of this system of things. As the first group grew older, the second group started to be born so that for a while the two groups overlapped one another - they were contemporaries of one another.

We might think of it this way. While we were in school, we were contemporaries with children of other ages who were also going through school. Even though our ages differed, we were collectively known as 'school age children.' We were all part of the same generation of students. Obviously the older ones finished their course, even while the younger ones were just starting out.

Now, applying that thought to Jesus' illustration, he said in effect, before these younger students could complete their course, this system will have already ended. Now this is important because today, today those younger ones are themselves well advanced in years. This underscores how little time remains and clearly indicates the tribulation must be near. And soon now, Christ will complete his conquest over those who refuse to recognize his authority. This becomes clear as we finish Revelation chapter 6, starting in verse 12 ... [reads v. 12-17]. Yes indeed, who will stand? The very fact that the question is asked shows that not all will. But Revelation chapter 7 goes on to say that those who stand are the remaining ones of the anointed and a great crowd of other sheep.

So how do we know that the kingdom is coming soon? Is it just a feeling that we have? No, not at all. We've reviewed multiple lines of Scriptural evidence, we've taken eye-witness testimony, all leading to the same conclusion: we are deep into the end of this system. God's kingdom will soon come. Christ will soon complete his conquest. He'll soon guide people, survivors to paradise. So we know that God's kingdom will soon come.

Definition of coming soon? Well according to the above.

If Geoff jackson who is 55 lives to 100, this system could go on for another 45 years. Who is to say that he isn't the youngest?

Well FU WTS I have a life to lead.

Great transcript! So now the overlapping "young" portion of the generation are, how did he put it, "advanced in years"???? And they will live to see the end of the world at the Big A?

Sounds like they're being forced to light a fire under rank-and-file Dubs to keep them on point. Could they be close to positing another date for Big A? I doubt it, but it would be pure pleasure to watch.

Well. I didn’t ‘notice’ that Rev 6:9-11 & Matt 24:34 have any connection in respects to ‘overlapping’, let alone anything else.

It’s all ‘bait and switch’ causing ‘cognitive dissonance’ if you ask me.

Well done for transcribing this by the way.

It’s excruciating to read. It’s ‘telling’ not ‘teaching’. It’s complete rubbish.

The ‘school age’ illustration is trying to enforce a false dichotomy, a logical fallacy.

    Utter bunkum!

This is total bunk. Jesus comments are "This generation will by no means pass away, until all these things occur," is puzzling. Jesus evidently said this line or something similar that was paraphased. How telephone did not happen with the apostles and disciples is amazing. People record what Jesus says when he is utterly alone. What if Jesus were referring to fishing or something in this context? We don't fully know. There were no film makers or videographers and, even then, editing occurs. Jesus performed miracles to show that the Kingdom of God was present and future. He could have meant the prophesied destruction of Jerusalem or perhaps the Second Coming.

Jesus never spoke of 144,000 or the WTBTS. Does anyone here see any proof that Jesus started to reign in 1914 because the church has always taught Christ's presence from his death. Since he lives in us and we move and have our being him, all things have passed away. The system of domination has ended with his earthly ministry.

We know this is crazy cult talk. Anyone thinking of this garbage would have been automatically disfellowshipped when I was active. I usually make a distinction between the Society, evil, and regular Witnesses who may have good hearts and live clean lives. Sometimes, though, I think regular Witnesses are the more evil for believing this crap and not asking questions. It is chilling. Only since coming here do I fully appreciate that JW are a cult!

    Hey, thanks for posting that.

They might as well have said "Yadda yadda yadda." This is just a bunch of gobbledee gook to show the members that they know what they are saying and if they repeat "overlap" enough times, the members will believe it.

Group 1 of this generation discerned the sign of Christ's presence in 1914. But they weren't merely born in 1914 nor merely alive to witness the start of Christ's presence. They were spirit-anointed in or before 1914.

This looks to me like they are going to take the 'short-time' so seriously and have some new Harold-Campings-type of doomsday. If only the media had ignored him more, they would have been grateful. They are facing serious credibility problems with the overlap and pulling out all the stops to retain membership.

It sounds like a repeat of the 1969 Awake that said those who go to college won't ever get to work in their profession because the end is so near.

I expect a huge 2034 campaign if membership drops, but they will say it could come sooner, MUCH SOONER than even that.

Good Lord, they're like a kid picking at a scab, they just can't let this embarrassing teaching quietly drop, can they?

They were spirit-anointed in or before 1914.

Well that's a clear reference to Fred Franz, baptized as a Bible Student in 1913. He died in 1992 or 1993.

So the "overlappers" were "anointed" prior to 1993.

While we were in school, we were contemporaries with children of other ages who were also going through school. Even though our ages differed, we were collectively known as 'school age children.' We were all part of the same generation of students.

That's hysterical. When I was in 12th grade, the youngest "school age child" was just 6, 12 years younger.

12 years vs. the overlapper Geoffrey Jackson, born 60+ years after ol' Freddy.

What a bunch of rubes. The more they talk about it, the more ridiculous it sounds.

I didn't know Geoffrey Jackson was only 55. How old was he when he started partaking? How did he climb the ranks so quickly? You know there's a congregation north of where I'm at, and I gave a talk there one Sunday. It had to have been the oldest congregation I've ever seen. It looked like a Medicare-D educational seminar. I don't know if anyone was partaking of the emblems or not, but I'd venture to say that 95% of the congregation was not, and there was a significant amount of them who were older than 55. Him being annointed doesn't even make sense. I don't have anything against the guy personally, and I actually like his voice and speaking style, but if he's annointed and all these other LONG time JWs have an earlthy hope, something is extremely wrong.

Given the 'new/no light' (TM) on the toes and overlapping I discovered there is a condition called 'Overlapping Toes', the medical site states =

''Overlapping toes are more serious than it seems – it is actually a form of hammertoe , and if not treated can cause friction, discomfort, and severe irritation.''

So - overlapping toes = new light!

Sorry, I'm just taking the mickey, all this 'New/no Light' (TM) is beyond tedious.
