would this be a minor error:

Life Everlasting- In Freedom of the Sons Of God, page 26:

In order for the Lord Jesus Christ to be "Lord even of the sabbath day," his thousand-year reign would have to be the seventh in a series of thousand-year periods or milleniums, (Matthew 12:8, AV) Thus it would e a sabbatic reign.

This was written regarding the end of 6,000 years of man's existance coming in the year 1975.

Minor error? No big deal? They pin their words and put the blame on Jesus if they are wrong.

person who was 15 at the time of this article will now be trying to figure out if he or she can retire.......another way the WTS has destroyed the lives of its followers

I got baptised in 63. I remember the elder telling me "Grace by 1975,,,, you will >first of all be with us all cleaning up the earth, then you will be young & beautiful again ,living with all the animals in paradise earth,"

Oh! but now I understand they say the internet is, OOPs !!!!Jehovah changed his mind again.!!!!!...Poor Reniaa I feel for the poor soul, I have been there done that....

did the bible use the word cross? NO the word didn't even exist!

Wow you are incredibly ignorant. The word for a cross was "crux", and it was a very common method of torture in those days. The Romans found that by adding a large crossbeam for the hands and a smaller crossbeam underneath the feet, which could be used to support the victims weight, they could prolong the agony of crucifixion for days. It may be that the word "crux" is not found in Bible canon, but to say "the word didn't exist" shows your complete and utter lack of any scholarly knowledge.

Thanks doom...The JW will call the cross a pagan symbol...and yes it was! And the Romans who WERE PAGAN put Jesus to death with their preferred method of execution. Regarding its use today- Jesus blood cleansed something that was formerly pagan. We don;t use it as an object of worship, we do not pray to it or bow down to it. We use it as a reminder of what Jesus did.

Yeah, and guess what's an even older pagan symbol... in fact one of the very oldest pagan symbols... the sacred Phallic Pole! Guess what an upright stake driven in to the ground is? A sacred phallic pole! Durr!

So if according to the WT something having a pagan origin or beginning makes it forever bad..it can not become something good...why do they baptize? Pagan baptism predates the baptism preached by John the Baptist. It seems to me that John the Baptist- Jesus forerunner was not too concerned with origin.

Speaking of pagan symbols....Why did Charles Taze Russell put an Egyptian "winged sun disc" image on the cover of all his books?

I just saw the beginning of a television program that showed a similar winged image on the temple of the Zoroastrians!

Russell knew quite well the origin of the symbol, so why did he chose to use it on the cover of ALL his books?

hey renny......I know you are trying your best to put what you think is an alternative viewpoint to us apostates, in the hope someone might change their minds about the watchtower.....but tbh....there are too many people around here who have been hurt by this so called "tolerant, loving organisation" and have seen through the deception

as eyes open said...."can you do one on scientology next"?......of course there are apologists for all of these high control groups....BUT......it doesn't make any of them right.....they have all to a lesser or greater degree destroyed and devastated lives.....

I think I speak for most here when I say we have all made an informed choice as to our present outlook........you are best putting your energies into doing what YOU want and need to be doing to make your life more content instead of poking a stick into this hornet's nest......peace to you and all the best mrs.....da ninja

    Defend the following:

    *** Awake! 1969 May 22 p.15 ***

If you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things . Why not? Because all the evidence in fulfillment of Bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years. Of the generation that observed the beginning of the 'last days' in 1914, Jesus foretold:'This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.' Therefore, as a young person, you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.

    Awake Masthead prior to 1995

"... the Creator’s promise of a peaceful and secure new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away." (Awake!, page 4, up until October 22, 1995).

Lol definitely Predictions are not a Wt forte they forget God has his own timetable that not even his son knows so.....Are Jw's wrong because they got a few dates wrong?

I will answer the question after you answer these 3

Which religion has the date right? (if you can tell me this I will drop any ideas of following JW's quicker than greased lightning and join them!)

If we can't do a date should we assume all the prophecy part of the bible concerning armegeddon should be ignored and never addressed? (as most christian faiths do now)

Should we try and prepare people for armegeddon, if prolonged disappointment will lead to them leaving the faith if it doesn't happen soon enough for their liking.?

No one knows the time.........so no one knows......and those who think they know, or have professed to have known, incorrectly in the past, are not only fooling themselves, but fall in the category of being a false prophet!!!
