how do JWs justify having children "in the last days?"

in the years leading up to 1975, there was an implicit (if not explicit) discouragement of having children given the proximity of armageddon.

for the most part, this seemed to have been ignored.

my jw grandma now has great-great grandchildren.

Maybe the childless old codgers in Brooklyn will get a bolt of new light, ban contraception, and thus assure themselves of growth in numbers.

many of you mentioned about spotting a jw down at the shops or something, how do you reconise them?

also how does a jw on field ministry dress?

Who is directing them?

jws claim to be led by god.

he is directing their organisation by his spirit.. they believe that smoking is wrong, in fact a disfellowshipping offense.

so why did god not tell them that smoking was wrong?.

Helrider,... don't be too hard on your old man, the WT forces people to be seeming hypocrits...it's tough being human and having new rules dumped on you by a bunch of old men far away in an iovory tower....Love is lacking from the top down....there's very little compassion. Remembger the good times.

this is why as i was growing up (raised in "the truth") i never asked questions.

i never understood the birthday issue among other holidays.

i never asked because i was scared i would be looked at as an apostate or as someone being worn down by the wicked association.
