  No mention of DF in new brochure?

  i went on my tablet today and clicked "yes" that i attended the convention (they probably tracked my ip and two elders will show up on my door step).

  i scanned through the new brochure on bringing those who have left back.

  i noticed that not once they mentioned anyone who was df!

  Marvins thread tittle completly glosses the topic! I didnt even bother clicking because it didnt seem interesting (at a glance). However a new broschure directed towards inactive ones does peak my curiosity.... The chapter titles, if accurate, betray an astonishing lack of insight as to why people leave.

  Of course that brochure isnt really written for the inactive. Its written, like all things, for the sole consumption of the faithful. Its a way to put reason to those that leave...either they were disgruntled or impatient, in effect. "See! I know thats why my brother or sister or best friend left because i read in this brochure!" After all, those that leave know better. We know exactly what our issues are and no brochure is going to fix. The org knows too. They will never address the real issues because of course they cant, but they can continue to put a smiling face on and look welcoming if for no other reason than to create a sense of comfort among those that stay for the fleecing.

  No More Money!

  as of this june (i've already given my may contributions which are substantial) i am no longer giving money to support useless building projects that serve no good purpose.

  i am no longer giving money at conventions or assemblies.

  i am no longer giving money toward the circuit overseers upkeep.

  I will, though, continue giving money to those in the congregation who are in need. To widows who are in financial difficulty, to brothers and sisters who have lost their job or who can only find part time work.

  I have done the same long time.

  But think about this:

  If I give my money to a JW - he always give a big thank you to JHWH in his prayers.

  He always thinks, JHWH gave him the money.

  So for me it makes no longer sense to give my money to a JW.

  Maybe he will blame JHWH for having not enough money.

  Just my 2 cents.

  Conversation, if I would ask this my elderly mother:

  MOTHER: "Have you asked your elders about this?"

  ME: Yes, but they have no satisfying answer.

  MOTHER: "So you must have a deeper bible-study!"

  ME: I have all this questions, because I studied the last years already too deep.

  MOTHER: "You should not study the "old" publications. Ask your elders for a bible-study!"

  i think most on here will be familiar with the caller hook up system that many congregations use.

  visit about 2 months ago.

  during our servant and elders meeting he was talking up the importance of meeting attendance and how we "gods spirit appointed men" must take the lead on making every meeting.

  In my "old" KH one elder checked every number tied in. If he don't know the number (person) - he called them afterwards to check - who it is. CONTROL-FREAKs.

  Thanks for your introducion. A friend of mine is in a simular situation.

  No help - no love from JW-people.
  All the love, understanding and help (including financial help) is coming from non JWs or fading people like me.

  He is in his twenties and going to school again - the best decision he could make.

  I'm "inactive" (JWspeak) - because of all the hard facts on JWfacts.

  Keep on reading & learning - and let us know about your progress.

  Why doe New light tick me off???? Next 2 weeks WT Studies

  if you have been a jw for 20+ years you may remember that the wt went into great detail on different illustrations that jesus used and the "type/anti-type" ridiculous explanations.

  remember the revelation book and how those obscure jw conventions of the past pictured big things in heaven and the opening of seals?

  anyway, the wt lessons for the next two weeks do two big things for me.

  i put "new" in quotation marks because these appear to simply be the introduction in their rnwt in one and the appendices, maps, charts, etc.

  publications named "an introduction to god's word" and "a study guide for god's word".

  Yes.

  Since other countries have the RNWT not in their language, they became in 2014 these 2 little books. Now they are also available in english.

  German Branch visit talk Mark Sanderson (Parents; don't hinder young children to get baptized)

  the video streaming of the german branch visit program was excrutiating 3.5 hours long.. i just went to see the last 45 min (part of mark sandersons talk).. i think sanderson is quite a sympathetic speaker and he kind of made a loving impression.. he didn't mention controversial stuff (except for one thing i will come to soon).

  he mostly talked about how to find joy, even when life is not easy, and how much the gb loves the rank and file.. one point seemed soooo important to him.
