  Holidays-nervous about celebrating them but don't understand why.

  i have came to the conclusion that all i learned while growing up as a witness is not the "truth'.

  i believe i have become agnostic in a short period of time.

  so, this year i decided that we are going to celebrate some holidays.

  I was nervous at first, too. It's all the old brainwashing. You can easily feel guilty long after you no longer believe. They do a good job at messing up minds. I figured that if that lightening bolt didn't get me when I walked into a Unitarian church, it pretty much wasn't ever going to. My kids had such a good time celebrating; I can still remember the first Halloween. It was cold and rainy, they were cold, but didn't mind. We went back to the house for pizza (and beer for the adults) while the kids counted and sorted the loot. I'm so looking forward to all the holidays this year! Love my Christmas tree!

  just received this.... .

  a reminder of jehovahs' love .

  every sunday afternoon, after the morning meeting one elder and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out tracts.. this particular sunday afternoon, as it came time for the elder and his son to go into the ministry with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down with rain.

  as many of you know, i've got a new job.

  quitting my old one is proving to be difficult.

  i gave my boss two weeks notice.

  You don't owe him anything more than the notice you already gave. He sounds put out that he'll have to replace you. He should have thought of that before and made the job more than tolerable. He should not contact your new employer, though I don't know that you can stop him. Just let the new one know you're on board and his company is your future.

  i like this topic!

  1. i went to an amusement park with friends when i was 17, when getting ready to go on the bumper boats the attendant told me to not step on the rubber part... listening wasn't my strong suite so i stepped on the rubber part and fell in much to the amusement of everyone there.

  2. for my 18th birthday my friends took me to see male strippers, my friend held money over my head and when the guy came to collect i refused to put it in his g-string and he called me a prude.

  Was first in line for tickets for a Joan Baez concert at a small venue.

  Taught a class at the local Unitarian Church.

  three years ago i told a close friend in australia that i was gay.

  as a witness, she cut me off.

  Yes, it is pathetic. Their entire system is. They do not unite in love, but divide in judgement. There's no making any sense of it; we just have to stay close to those who know what real love and friendship are. I'm sorry this is happening to you again.

  Big Night in NYC

  my son nicholas is playing for a songwriter session at the bitter end in the village tomorrow night at 7:00. he is 17 and sent his myspace and they called him two weeks ago.

  it is so exciting for him.

  amazing for me because my mom was a singer and gave it up for the "truth" in the early 50"s. life comes full circle.
