This was one of the first things I began questioning; it makes no sense at all.

Am I right here, or just Sarcastic...
by Tuesday inso my mom might be having an operation shortly, so i asked her about the blood card.
i said that since i was the closest relative that would at least understand her beliefs and follow them (no other relative in the area would allow her to not take blood) i said that i understood there was a new blood card with the various incraments and particles of blood that will be allowed.
she said there was and she had the card filled out, which i took a look at it and everything was checked off.

Would you say yes to a blood transfusion?
by Fisherman ini would like to get some honest answers about your position on blood transfusion.
as we get older, sooner or later we wind up in the hospital and the question they always ask is"...in the event.. would you accept blood?
" faced with that question, i answered no.

Without hesitation. I was in the hospital this fall with intestinal hemorage and made the nurse write on my admittance form that I had no objection to the use of blood in medical procedures. You never know if your old stand might come back to haunt you. A doctor came in a bit later and talked to me about a transfusion, that it isn't without risk and what those risks were. In the end, my blood count stopped falling just short of needing the transfusion but it took a long time to get my strength back. Doctors do not give transfusions unless they have to.
I probably would have been one to give my own life for this erronious doctrin, or worse yet, the life of one of my children. Thankfully, I'm free.

My daughter had a showdown with her aunt
by coffee_black inmy daughter's aunt (my x sil, and a jw) moved into my daughter's neigborhood recently.
she has had nothing to do with my daughter in over 15 years.
my daughter was never baptized, but her aunt chose to basically ignore her existence for all these years.

Have the daughter tell the aunt that if she shows up again, the sitter has orders to call the police. Give the sitter those instructions!

That they're right and everyone else is wrong and that they'll shun you if you choose to think differently. That they tear families apart.

Here we go again . . . The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
by cruzanheart ini got an email with an audio attachment (haven't listened to it) that's being passed around the witness community.
here's the written part of it anyway:.
i just wanted to let you know about an important piece of information i heard first hand, this morning (actually on a recording of a bethel representative giving a talk at the 2007 special day assembly in houston, tx).

Can we talk? . . .
by exwitless inhey, this is under jokes and humor, so don't get too offended.
i just wanted to vent about how people say things incorrectly, such as pronouncing things wrong or saying phrases wrong.
i'll start, and if you have any to add, please feel free.

On the way home the other night I was listening to the radio and the DJ was describing a traffic jam and how folks were stuck in their cars. He said everyone was probably using their asymetric's; I wondered what he was trying to say, was this a new way to figure out how to get home quicker? I figured it out when he tied it to a New Year resolution to get in shape; he meant isometric exercises! He had no idea he'd misspoken.

Society's claim of Matt. 24:14 being fulfilled - What it could really mean
by Jourles ini've had this thought for quite a while and wonder if fits with the recent talk about the wts claiming that matt.
24:14 has been fulfilled.
my thought was this --- in the wake of the recent cutbacks at bethel, scaling back of literature, and other cost cutting measures, could the wts be preparing the r&f for the complete or massive reduction of literature that would normally be placed with "householders?

My daughter spoke to my sister ("pass me the kool-ade, please) last night. Other than raking her over the coals, she threatened her with,"Jehovah's going to make a big change very soon" as though my daughter would buy into it. This sister is a pioneer, has been for 30 years and is absolutely sure of being right. I don't know what she thinks is coming, but she seems to believe something big is in the works. The thing is, we usually have all that info first here on the board so it sounds like the wts is allowing some big rumor to circulate.

Anybody a member of AAA? Would you recommend it?
by AlmostAtheist ini'm thinking about joining the aaa auto club.
my car is getting along in years and isn't going to get replaced any time soon.
i'm imagining that my stranded-on-the-side-of-the-road moment is imminent.
