I was baptized into the cult at the age of 30. I am thankful to Jehovah for leaving me alone until then

How do you feel about your JW childhood?
by Emily1987 ini was 5 years old when my mother was baptised.
we went from celebrating xmas to no presents or decorations.
we would still go to my unbelieving aunty's house on xmas day, all of my cousins would be playing with their new toys and would wonder why i didn't have any.

Do You Know Of Anyone Who Left JWs And Then Decided To Return?
by minimus inquite a few years ago there was a poster here that left the religion because he knew it was simply not true.
however, he returned to jws because he wanted to be with his family.
i don’t know how he is doing but gumby was his name.

People would return only for 2 reasons, IMHO:
THey left for some reasons, still believing its the truth and then return out of fear or guilt.
They left because they discovered its a cult but yet return for the sake of family.

Why is the Watchtower omitting even more scriptures from their bible?
by Tameria2001 ini was searching for something online when i came across something that perked my interest.
i left the jws back in 2001, and have recently discovered that in 2013 they released a new edition of the new world translation of the holy scriptures.
but something i have also discovered it that they have omitted even more scriptures than what was in the 1984 edition as if that was bad enough.

So the Bible was god inspired and written by ancient Middle east men, then compiled by Romans where several books were excluded and others included - after a long debate - and then hand copied and sparsely distributed and when the Printing press came, printed and then translated into numerous versions, each version claiming itself to be authentic and now many verses removed, which had been taken very serious all these centuries.
Wow god’s Grand plan to save mankind is awesome.

This very much Proves that the Bible is not God’s word. Nothing else either.

Jehovah was very cruel when he punished the various tribes for silly reasons.
Field service is very silly, like going and taking about a fairy tale.
That talk was very boring
I dont feel like going out in service today. Too Tired.

I'm afraid I'd be single for life
by ohnightdivine inthis is quite embarrassing for me to share, but as a 30+ year old single female i have lingering doubts as to whether i can still meet a decent man and get married.. you all know how difficult it is for sisters to find an appropriate partner in the congregation.. and now, all the more so that i've learned ttatt.
i still am bound by low self-esteem, and i do have trust issues, especially with men.
i am very lonely and so i just keep myself busy with work to avoid depression (although it is also a great source of stress).. any other single females out there having similar thoughts?.

There are so many non JW men out there who are far way better than JW males I had seen. Provided you are ok to marry out of the JW. THis is a fact I have seen. Dont lose hope

What’s the big deal with birthday cake?
by Addison0998 inhow strict were the jehovah’s witnesses you knew about birthday cake?
i knew a girl who saw a few pieces of cake in the break room at her work, and ate a peice, then found out later that it was left over birthday cake.
she felt so guilty and was scared about a bad impression she left on her work mates.

My prior Employer in USA was so caring to arrange for a Birthday cake for all Employees for the day, for each department. During that time I was super Zealous JW. I notified my manager that I don’t celebrate birthdays and wont even eat the leftover cakes. He said flatly at my face. "Are you bull sh....ng" ?
Now I realize his words were so true. I might have looked like a nutty, brainwashed idiot to all of them, at that time.

Jehovah's Witnesses and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ
by JW Answers inthe bodily resurrection of the lord jesus is pivotal for the christian faith, yet the jehovah's witnesses do not believe that the lord jesus christ rose again in a body.
the watchtower have taught their followers that the lord jesus christ rose again as a spirit creature, and that his body was disposed, disintegrated and dissolved by god the father.
in this video, i explain the differences to what the jehovah's witnesses teach and what god's word teaches, showing without any dispute that the watchtower organisation is false, and that we can always rely on god's word.

JW ANSWERS, If you resurrection claim is true(And what millions believe to be true), Jesus should not have ascended to heaven but should still be around on earth- immortally, having established the true Christianity and avoided all conflicts and Crusade wars.

I didn’t watch the video. What ever version you try to prove is in vain, as the (any) resurrection story is totally bogus
Its like me making a video to prove that my great, great great, great grand father got resurrected after his death, performed miracles and ascended to heaven.
