Ah, our American Compatriots have no idea what they are missing... one of the finest shows on television. The Trailer Park Boys.
Any fans out there besides me?
There is a trailer park in our town and it seems as though there are striking similarities between the people there and the people on the show.
Freedom 35. To understand that joke, you have to watch it.

What Are The Differences Between A "Normal" JW & A "Worldly"( Normal) Perso
by minimus injws believe they are normal.
yet, they feel, that anyone not a witness, (aka "worldly") is abnormal.
for example, at a jw wedding, it would be inappropriate to "toast" and cling glasses to the happiness of the new bride and groom.

A normal person does not participate in abnormal behavior such as going house to house and doing so every 6 months, disturbing the neighbourhood and generally pissing people off.
A normal person does not have five meetings per week, plus a family study, personal study, and any other 'bible studies' in the 'field'.
A normal person does not judge as the witnesses do.
A normal person does not go to three day conventions in searing heat to hear the same gooblegook over and over and over and over and over again.
A normal person knows what love is, and how to express it appropriately.
I could go on here.

How does the WT explain "The Truth will Set You Free???"
by Confucious innow that i'm really free with truth.
i was wondering how the wt explains this scripture, since their members are in bondage.
i was told by the lady that studied with me that jw are free from superstitions, etc.

Well, the truth is light. And the light is truth. Lights truths light. And happiness is obtained from giving all your time and effort to the sovergn lord jehover, and giving your cash.
Just take some mind altering substance then try to figure it out. It makes more sense when you're stoned.

OK for JWs to vote?
by davidsf inwhat's the society's latest teaching on voting?
is it a "conscience" matter or is it still forbidden?
i got into a discussion with a jw on another board and she says it may be ok to go into voting booth to avoid danger but it 3was forbidden to actually vote for a candidate.
-
shamus
Are there really any conscience matters in the KH?
Was there ever such a thing? Hell, you can watch what you want, no matter what the village idiots say, but god help you if do the wrong thing. That's how a typical dub describes a conscience matter.
Oh, and your conscience matter will be the gossip of the kingdumb hall too.... read: BAD ASSOSIATION. Been there, done that on both sides. Shameful.

Witnesses on The Move.. More Lies Spoon Fed To The Media

Their response is that they do give some help to the needy, but they will not get involved in building schools and hospitals because they are determined to stick to the core things which is teaching and preaching the Good News of Jehovah.
No they do not give help to the needy. Only they're needy, and that's poor at best. As for building the schools and hospitals, they leave that to the people who are going to be bird food at armageddon to build. Sad but true. -

I always found Jehovahs Witnesses to be extremely self-rightcheous, pretentious, and above all extremely ignorant people. I don't base this observation on just one kingdumb hall... I base this on 7 kingdumb halls that I had assosiated with during my tenure, not to mention visiting other kingdumb halls too.
They have it drilled into they're heads how rightcheous they really are, and how the rest of the world is so wrong, wrong, wrong. If someone, let's say, Mother Teresa dedicates her whole life to helping people, they will still cast her in with satan and his demons... a pretty bold thing to do, considering that the bogus bible that they read from says that they are not to judge anybody.
The whole scene is so toxic it's pretty hard to mistake it.
I had an elder grab me by the arm, squeese, and hiss in my ear "YOU HAD BETTER GET YOUR TIME IN ON TIME!". I had elders say horrible things about other people in car groups of other witnesses. I have experienced so much of it it boggles my mind that they can say that they have 'love' amongst themselves, while calling someone bad assosiation for watching the Simpsons. So they won't assosiate with that person because they watch 'the simpsons' yet you need to have friends... so where do you go? The congregation? No no... you're evil for wanting to watch that show. Young people then go out and assosiate with 'worldlies'. Believe me, I've seen this happen. And the young person didn't really care (nor did I). Better friends in 'the world' anyways. (no, they're not all drug dealers and killers... )
Of course there were some extremely nice elders too! They were out numbered, a conservative guess, 4 to 1. The rank and file were worse sometimes.
That elders behavior does not shock me in the least. It's disgusting, but it is wholly believeable and most likely true to a tee.

Do Jws really want to have a study??
by ellderwho inthis is the second time in a row the witneses have stood me up for a study.
i give my name and number, and nothing.
not a phone call notta.
-
shamus
Why bother? They get lots of studies that end up 'bringing down the giant'... er um, don't work out because the study calls bullshit on them. Yet they still go on. In other words, it's probably not worth your while to waste your time. Just IMO.
**edited to add**
If you want to find out the beliefs from they're prespective (sp), then it's a great way to learn, too. Too much talk here of poo-pooing they're teachings, from one side. If you're at all curious, by all means, study with them! There's nothing wrong with that. If you have any doubts, please do go ahead and study with them. I always found the studies boring and excruciatingly thurough... not to mention just boring. If you want to really freak them out, ask to study the Revelation book... especially when it reveals who the harlot is, LOL! I would love to see them put a nice spin on that one.

I've seen Paul myself, personally.
Hey, ask him if we wants to come on over for some wine. I feel like getting liquoured up tonight, and haven't seen the Apostle Paul for quite some time.
Hey, how is John doing? Is he still smoking hash?
