which celebrity death....?
by nowisee injust heard about the death of joel siegel, the entertainment critic for abc, and found myself, surprisingly, in tears.
maybe it was because he had such a young son and made plans to let him know how much he was loved, long before he died.
maybe because i have watched him for so many years.

yes, poppers, i know what you mean. the political deaths have and will have ripple effects throughout history. i remember jfk, and 1968. recently visited the civil rights museum in memphis and was totally unprepared. you park in this large parking lot. the museum is to your right and there is this tall brick wall that you have to go around to get to the entrance to the museum. you go around it and there is the motel where mlk jr. was shot. it suddenly all comes back, the fingers pointing to the building across the street from where the shots came. stunning. the political deaths still resound. yet the celebrity deaths, or certain ones, still do too.

AURAS......
by freedomloverr inwithout elaborating at length, there has been a lot going on in my life of late and i have sought out some therapies that i have used in the past.
they've helped a lot.
they are more along the lines of *natural* therapies.

i never saw an aura. i owned a metaphysical bookstore for several years and doubted several who "interpreted auras". however, one customer of mine sticks out in my mind. she said she saw everyone's aura and it was totally draining for her. she wished with all her heart that she did not have that ability. food for thought.

What didn't you do because you were a JW that you now regret?
by jwfacts ini just bought a bottle of wine for an exjw's 30th that i am about to run off to.
on it there was a great quote by mark twain:.
"twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do... explore.

blondie, that sounds downright newage. i used to sell a book in my new age bookstore called, "the precious present." (yet true)
to answer the question, i would not have married my ex-husband. i would not have listened to all of the stuff telling me that as a female i was subservient, had to be obedient, and was not as good as nor equal to my male counterparts. -

Why did you want to be an elder?
by ThomasCovenant ini'm curious to know reasons for wanting to be an elder?.
some have expressed to me they wanted to use their abilities to help others.. another said he wanted to be in the inner circle to make sure he was able to look after his families' interests in the event of any future mishaps by his children.. i think many just get caught in the web of handling microphones, then ministerial servant then elder.. i know it's easy for me to say as i wasn't any of these (apart from microphones) but .
i can't help thinking for most men it is simply helping to fulfill a desire for more power.. many don't seem content to be viewed as a mere publisher but want to get in on the action, knowing all the gossip and being involved on decisions.. is it true that deep down, even though most may have good motives, it is still out of a feeling of self importance.. thanks .

hah! as a female i just wanted to be an elder's wife! i am sure it was for the prestige and the inherent social aspects of the position. i wish i could say my motives were as pure as "eldress blondie"!
