  well i was cornered this weekend.

  my df' father and inactive mother invited me to the memorial .

  my parents both said i better get on the ball there isn't much time left.

  Blondie and Rocketman - Thanks for the responses and advice.

  I will probably get there right on time and then sneak out during the prayer. LOL

  My mom said me and your dad need to get our act together too. She always starts going to the meetings whenever something crazy happens in the world.

  She has been watchig the war coverage around the clock since it began. I feel bad for her she gets so scared. But the fear doesn't last long. When the war is over and things have calmed down she will be her usual non-attending meetings, self again. LOL

  My dad on the other hand always says "this is what the bible predicts". I cannot tell if he is really scared or not. He is obviously not scared enough to get his act together. LOL

  He attends Sunday meetings pretty regularly but that is all.

  Well I was cornered this weekend. My DF' father and Inactive mother invited me to the Memorial

  My parents both said I better get on the ball there isn't much time left. I said I will go and I am going to go just to make them feel better. And I don't feel like hearing any of my other family members tell me what a heathen I am for not going.

  I am still not ready to stand up to them even though I let them say whatever the hell they want to me.

  I know I am going to be cornered by the Elders while there and I am a little worried I am going to give in when they ask can we go by and give you a shepherding call.

  I want to tell them don't call me I'll call you but I am afraid to be so honest and bold with them. I am always afraid of hurting people's feelings.

  Is anybody else attending? What do you plan to say to anyone who tries to pull you back in?

  "You know it is, you know!"

  i kept hearing these words from my mother today, she kept saying, "you know it is the truth" "you know the end is coming" "you know there is only one true religion, there is only one truth" "you know, you know, i know you do".

  aaaaahhhhhggggg!

  it makes me sick to hear her say that, i have always responded to those words with "yeah, i know", but this time i didn't.. a friend that i haven't spoken with in quite a while from the kh da'd herself the other night, i found out.

  My family members are good at saying things like this to me too.

  I hear that nonsense from my father who is disfellowshipped. After he tells me to get back to the meetings there isn't much time left and "you know it's the truth" he says I need to get myself back there too.

  A HUGE WHATEVER TO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Then every now and then my siblings will start hounding me too. I dare not tell them they are full of crap because I don't want to be shunned.

  Somebody brought up some very interesting points. JW are taught to say such things so they can deceive people.

  How about this one? "I understand you are not interested and we are not hear trying to convert you to our religion we just want to share with you some vital information blah blah blah blah................................... "

  I can't really remember all the nonsense I used to sell at the door.

  Were we not infact there to change all we can. Turn everyone into JWs? I must admit I always felt a little guilty about being deceiving to people at the doors.

  Should we or shouldn't we?...JW family member's graduation..advice please

  my husband's sister is graduating this year.

  she called and was excited to let us know when her graduation party is planned for.

  his parents called the very next day and said maybe it would be a good idea if my hubby who is da'd not attend.

  I think everyone thus far had given you good advice. But keep in mind they did say "maybe" so they didn't come right out and say your husband is not invited and cannot attend.

  Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable around the Jdubs. But I understand your situation. I am trying to decide if I going to attend my little sister's graduation this year too.

  i also understand the need for some to maintain themselves unrevealed.

  I've just EATEN BLOOD & attended Catholic MASS !!!!!

  just got back from ireland - went to knock and attended catholic mass there - because i could .

  on the way to knock, i sat down for breakfast at a great little pub and ordered a 'full irish'.

  blow me, but there sat a slice of black pudding on my plate - so, again, because i could, i ate it .

  Mrs. Loud-Mouth-Gossipping-Alcoholic Sister

  She would talk about everyone all the time inside/out of the KH. Then greet them with the biggest warmest smile right when they walked in the KH.

  There were few people I disliked as well. but the one I didn't like were weel deserving of not beink liked.

  Who should be voted off AMERICAN IDOL?

  thank god corey is gone (although he was booted, not voted off).. anyone watch today?

  kimberley locke was simply amazing...reuben as well.... clay was great but played it safe...too bad joshua didn't...he was the worst singer tonight....it was painful to watch...disco is not his genre of singing.... i also liked carmen.. of the judges, i love simon's honesty.. reuben looks like a shoe-in for american idol finalist...i wish his competition was either kimgerly locke or clay

  I too am very upset that Ricky was voted off so soon. I wanted Carmen Josh and Kimberly Caldwell to go in that order.

  Oh well, I had a feeling it would be Ricky though even though he didn't deserve to go so soon. I voted for him at least 100 times the other night it obviously did not help.

  If one of them, Carmen, Kimberly C or Josh is not voted off next week I will no longer watch the show. It is starting to really get on my nerves, how people are making it a popularity contest.

  I want Clay or Ruben to win the American Idol title.
