Ah yes I am in the process of letting it all go. I was somewhat sad when I was Dfed four years ago but then I tried to put things back into perspective. There has not been one day that has gone by that I have not questioned did I make the right decisions in my life at that time. At one point you have to move on unless you want to progress with your life. I don't see how that can happen if you cling on to your negative past. I choose not to bash jw's for my mother is one. I choose not to disgrace Jehovahs name by insensitve comments afterall I still believe him to be the creator of all human life

I am fairly new to this board, but have been lurking for awhile before I decided to become a registered member. I have read many posts old and new and can't help but wonder why many of you just don't let it go? Some of you have expressed bitterness and disgust over what the wts has done to you. Others make fun of jw's and their cause. Many make insensitve comments about Jehovah and his son Jesus. There have been many who have been on this board for awhile and continue to do all things I have mentioned above. Will there ever come a time where you will say I have had enough with the bashing, I am moving on with my life. How can you call yourself free when you spend so much time talking about your life as a jw? Why not let that part of your life go forever?

Six million people mislead?
by ikhandi ini have done a little research since joining this board and honestly believe that jehovahs witnesses fit in the cult category.
however what i don't understand if this is not the so called true religion as most of you have expressed how do you figure six million were mislead into believing it is the only true religion?
i mean this is not like the heaven's gate cult or the infamous jonestown cult who had very little followers in comparison with jehovahs witnesses.

I totally feel you on this one. I was told my countless friends in my cong "Don't forget your creator in your youth pioneering is the way to go" Some even seemed disappointed in my decison not to pioneer after high school. I ignored their criticism and did what was right for me. In my heart I always had that pioneer spirit so I did both. I went to college and pioneered at the same time. It was very hard, but looking back now I am more educated than I probably would have ever been if I didn't go to school. You have to do what is right for you and noone else. The wts doesn't pay your bills or rent. You have to provide a life for yourself. Follow your heart

I don't consider myself totally free as of yet. How can I be when I occasionally get the urge to make an appearance at the meeting? Somtimes I want to go other times I hate the idea. Nov of 1999 seems so long ago to me. I recently came across my service bag and found some magzines from 99. What do I plan on doing with these and why do I still have them? Until I get rid of the need to hold onto wts publications I will never be free!

Sparks your truly a riot and intuitive! I All of those friends were in my former cong. Will not forget Brother I Am Stumbled By Everything. He took it upon himself to tell me privately aftrer service that my Betty Boop air freshner dangling from my rear view mirror was stumbling him. Come on now who is stumbled by a cartoon character? He needed to get a life. I love Betty and I am not giving her up for anything. I mean shes cute and all but damn. I also love I love kitty.

i saw the watchtowers, so to save this poor ol' 'brother's" voice, i opted to tell them that i had ds'd myself 4years ago.
usually this will ward them off as if i had the plague.

You are truly a brave soul happy2b. I live in a two family home with relatives who were never jw's. Lately the witnesses around here have been working this terroritory to death. Guess they are getting really deperate to find just anyone at home. My relatives open the door and they of course say "we are all set" I got that line a lot. They insist on ringing my bell even though they know I am disfellowshipped. I refuse to answer my door. I just stare at those poor fools as they walk down my steps and on the next house to mislead some other people. Once in awhile when I want to be nasty I call my other neigbors and warn them the witnesses are here. Open your door at your own risk.
