since i have a rather morbid sense of humor, and none of us is going to see armageddon................................ what would you like to be written on your tombstone?

i'll start.. "buried face down...........and you know the rest".

anyone have any problems when they reached 666 posts im not superstitious but it is the number of the beast if i remember correctly

My drivers license has 666 in it. Dont bother me. I enjoyed telling it when I was a witness. To one brother especially who tried to boss single sisters. Last I heard of him he was annointed . Thats a laugh he just wants the power to be bossy. I think he would like some worshipping too. This was in the 70s and he said to a group of us they were going to start disfellowshiping sisters who were over weight. I said how can they do that when most of the elders are way over weight. I said besides that God loves fat. Fat burning on the altar was like perfume to God. I got a dirty look from him but he shut up and never heard any more. His niece liked to come to my apt and play with my daughter and he stopped her from coming over we were bad influence I felt so sorry for the little girl she told me she was sorry (10 yr old) She said this isnt right. If I had known he would have taken it out on her I would kept my mouth shut. Sorry I didnt intend to go on but it brought back this bad memory

What "world coming to an end" dates have Born-Agains set that you know of?

when i left jw's after finding about all of the "false" dates that was set for armaggeddon, i thought that they were the only ones that did this.

but since leaving the jw's and doing 15 years of "research" on all religions i found out that jw's are not the only ones that have giving false predictions.

the christian church is also guilty of this.

The born again christian church I have been attending since 1992 does not set dates. The bible says no one knows the time or date. We look for Christ to come back. We do not dwell on Armagadden. The church i go to is Calvary Chapel and I recommend it if you really want to understand the bible.

funny how witnoids used to preach that they currently lived in "spiritual paradise".

if you realy stop and think about it, witnoids are under more pressure and stress (dealing with real life and witnoid life) than those who are "worldly".

IN Galatians 5:22 Paul wants the Galatian church to keep in mind the fruits of the spirit. Love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self control did any one ever talk on the fruits of the spirit? Not in any hall I attended. Jesus said peace I leave with you. There was stress and cayuse so much gossip and mean spirit in the halls.I remember a sister telling me the WT had the best spy system in the world.What got to me was the lying. No wonder people are so stressed out. My daughter and I were invited to dinner and a brother and his son was invited. The husband was a JW but not the wife. I cant remember where the husband went for a short time but anyway the wife and I were joking around with the Jw just friendly talk. Later it turns out he told her husband that his wife was flirting with him. I went to the husband and said hes a dam liar. We were kidding around with him. I think it was about him hating veggies. Anyway so stupid it could of caused a divorce. Just glad I am free of that stuff

in this la times article, they mention every other 'end time' prophecy group - except jws.

but i thought jw's were the only ones preaching about jesus and the end ... .

'end times' religious groups want apocalypse soon.

A lot of christians believe this is the last days. They dont set dates nor do they push people to give up education or sell off there houses and spend it going door to door. They also dont look forward to armagaddon or live in fear. They look to Christs return. The bible says no one knows the time or date so they go on with life as God wants them to do. So there is a big difference from what the JWS preach.

The mormons are so nice and polite when they came to my door. They also listened to what I had to say. Mormons have a much happier life than JWS. They have their own colleges and support education. They put on plays and sing . Mormons have their choir. They also encourage the arts. I have mormon station on Direct tv. I watch their cooking and craft shows and some of their musicals. If they were not a cult I would be tempted. They also help their people. A friend I had years ago was a mormon and her husband was out of work they brought them loads of food clothing until he got back on his feet.

here's a little more detail on the "kingdom news" campaign i posted about yesterday:.

the campaign runs fruns from october 16 - november 12. it will be announced to the congregations in a service meeting part during the week of september 18. every publisher and pioneer gets 50 copies.

this is something i don't recall happening before: publishers are supposed to keep track of how many tracts they place, and record it on the back of their time slips for october and november.

Maybe they will get this prediction right. Are they predicting their own demise.? Wouldnt that be ironic? Everything they preach is against what Jesus taught.

Society goes nuts--yet another "special" campaign for September!

in an earlier post here http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/114651/1.ashx i noted the society's "special campaign" for september, an "awake" magazine dedicated to the topic of evolution vs. creation.

there is a "special campaign" to highlight that magazine all month.. got a call from our po last night.

there is going to be yet another "special campaign" in september -- a new "kingdom news" tract.

All big business have ad campaigns. I am wondering why they dont advertise on TV. It is expensive so maybe they dont want to part with the money. Most companies dont have people willing to go door to door to sell their wares for free. They have to offer good wages and benefits and retirement package. I feel sorry for those having to leave.I have Social security and pension and its still not easy with inflation and medical so high now. I just dont know how these people are going to make out.

Does anyone else have high Cholesterol?

turns out i've inherited this genetic condition whereby my body doesn't regulate cholesterol properly.

even though i eat quite sensibly and exercise my cholesterol is at 7. i'm not overweight, i don't smoke and i only drink with friends.. now the doctor tells me i have 6 months to bring my cholestorol under control or i'll be on pills (statins?).

no red meat!

my doc told me to take fish oil so I take salmon 1000 mg it took a few months but now I have good cholestrol. I only use olive oil to cook with. Hope this helps
