Jst2laws - what do you think Jesus meant when he said in Matt 28 that we should make disciples? Also, what about Matt 24: 14 which says we should preach throughout the earth? I am not having a go at you - I am just curious and want to know how to answer people that ask me the same thing.

the one about" the rapist being human" too, ranks right up there....like we're supposed to feel bad for him?
last night - my 'Shepherding visit' - one elder said:
"You have been such a good example to everyone - why throw it all away and jeopardise seeing Claire and having your family reuinited one day?"
He was talking about Claire (my daughter, died 12 years ago), and the fact that I hate so many elders for persecuting my other daughter!

my 1st grandchild finally arrived yesterday, the 27th!
she's the 1st child in our family born outside "the truth" in 67 yrs.
and she's cute if i say so myself!

I can definitely vouch for what everyone has said - grandchildren are just as precious as your own children. I have 2 - a grandson and a grandaughter - and I love them just as much as I love my children. You must be so proud - treasure every minute of this time.

One brother I knew used to wear dark glasses at the KH and sit at the back - nobody ever knew he slept through the whole thing every time!

I didn't get this until after the meeting but I still did what you said - I made my own notes and everybody thought I was making notes on the public talk.
Also, during the WT, I was able to see through a lot of the garbage myself. I wouldn't have thought of doing this if it hadn't been for me finding this forum and seeing your breakdowns - thank you so much - you made an unbelievably dull meeting bearable

What about 2 elders and an MS coming on my 'shepherding' visit! I never heard of that before. I know that sometimes an elder takes an MS with him to train him - but I had 3 last night - all in their black suits with their big briefcases - looking at me menacingly!!!!!!
my dad has no idea how to use a puter let alone get on the net.. so i rang him up just now...and told him what i've been up to...about this site and all, and how it's helped me found out a whole lot of information, usually hidden from the r&f and how some ex jw's are doing a really great job, by staying on the inside and doing what they can to provide info to expose corrupt dealings by the gb....he was flabbergasted...and i might add very impressed,,,lol isn't that cool?.
well i told him there are spies everywhere now, and the wts is really starting to feel the affects...pity the net wasn't around years ago huh guys?
anyway..to cut a long story short....i asked him during his time as the po in his cong.

Is your Dad still a JW? Is he still an elder? Were you an elder? You must be very brave if he is still in the organsation. He wouldn't 'turn you in', would he? I am still pretty guarded when I speak to JWs just in case - some of them are pretty sneaky. I mean, I have heard so many stories on this board where people are rejected by their own flesh and blood - just goes to show you don't know who to trust.

I haven't been on this forum long, but the longer I am here, the more dumbfounded I am when I hear of the terrible things people have had to put up with. That you can come through all of this and still keep your dignity is so wonderful. You have no bitterness, which in itself is pretty amazing. I am working hard to rid myself of a lot of bitterness right now - I am so angry about so many things. You have shown me that you can go through a whole lot of rubbish, and come through it a stronger person.

I have become quite hardened to their petty remarks over the years. The thing is, I think this elder genuinely believes what he says and thinks I am doomed. He is always putting his foot in it and is the most tactless man I know.

It's just so weird - I was talking but they weren't hearing me. Everything I said fell on deaf ears. When they answered my repeated questions, they didn't answer them! They kept repeating the same things. Whatever I said, it was 'Wait on Jehovah', 'Don't be presumtuous' etc etc. I am always being called 'Presumptuous' or 'Opinionated' - it is really getting on my nerves. I can't say too much for fear of being booted out while half my family are still in, but I just can't sit back and watch the elders walk all over someone I love and reduce her to a quivering wreck. I am so angry! Their visit made me more depressed than ever. One of the 'loving' elders (the ringleader who has never liked me) even said I was jeopardising my chances of ever seeing my daughter again. The daughter he was talking about is Claire - she was killed when she was 5 years old. He was obviously trying to get at me with emotional blackmail - but it won't work!
