Worst day of the year?

Congregation Picnics
by Funchback inmy former congregation usually had a congregation picnic once a year.
all of the brothers (a/k/a men) had to pay for all of the food.
the sisters (a/k/a women) had the godly priviledge of serving the food.

Chilling experience

nor am i infatuated with the supernatural as many jw's/ex-jw's are/were.
with that said, let me relate what happened to me at work last night.. on saturday night, we had four bad burns come in.

What did you actually enjoy about JW meetings?

as much as i dreaded going to all the meetings there were things that i did enjoy.. 1. no special parking spaces for the elders, etc.. 2. no collections plate going around the room.
3. no one person giving the talk every single week (can you imagine the same speaker 3 to 4 times a week, every day?

JWs and materialism
by YellowLab inbeen out of the "truth" for nine years now, with many family members and relatives still in.
while i was in, we were taught to be humble and put jehovah first in your life.
meetings, study and service were the most essential parts of being a jw.

Did You Stay as a Witness Because You Needed a Social Life & "Friends"?

a lot of people look at religion as a way to get together and be social with one another.
let's face it, people need "friends".
