A Question for Underground Apostates, How Many Are There?
by Village Idiot inwhen i first came to this forum i was of the belief that those of us who were still in due to family reasons were few in numbers perhaps one in a thousand in the jws.
soon i came to the realization that there were many more.
we have dozens of posters here who are mentally out but still in.

This is something I have wondered about. I'm guessing it would be low, and those that do know TTATT are to scared to say anything. I have heard of various ones e.g elders / Bethelites who for no apparent reason have just stopped having anything to do with the witnesses. Now knowing what I know I wonder if it was knowing the TTATT that was the catalyst for it. I remember some years ago I had a RV who was an inactive elder. I remember him just before he died having a bible beside him, and he always said he had a love for the scriptures, but never gave his reasons for stepping down and becoming inactive. It would of been interesting to find out his reasons. -

Circuit Overseer's Cars - Anybody got the answers?
by The Searcher inatlantis provided a uk branch letter regarding a 3 levy per publisher to pay for the britain branch c.o.s 85 new cars.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/126700001/2-new-boes-watchtower-begging-money-volunteers.
with approximately 120,000 publishers in the uk, that will rake in 360,000. .

How, exactly, does Watchtower's literature publishing bring them money?
by Island Man ini've heard is said many times that watchtower is a publishing company bringing in money from the proliferation of its literature.
how exactly does this process work?
i know that jws are encouraged to tell the householders of the donation arrangement to support the worldwide work.

The Real History of Mormonism - Outstanding Lecture
by cofty inif you think the mormon church is off-the-scale crazy you probably don't know the half of it.. the historical information in this talk by david fitzgerald is fascinating.
the good news is that, just like the watchtower, their growth is being stunted by the internet.. grab a coffee and be amazed at just how gullible millions of people can be.. lucy harris has become my new heroine.
don't miss the section from 8:50.

I have always said this. The Mormon church is more fanciful but the watchtower is more dangerous. -

Child Abuse must be getting out of hand if they're addressing it...
by thedepressedsoul ini'm referring to the video that was uploaded where they finally mentioned the child abuse issue.
we all kinda guessed that if they ever addressed it they'd blame it on the media and apostates.
well, looks like we were spot on.

Lett briefly addresses the child abuse issues in new JW.org video
by Richard_I ini just read about this on the ex-jw subreddit.
link to the video (10m06s).. skip to 7:35 where he says: "another way we can contribute to the oneness - rejecting false stories that are designed to separate us from jehovah's organization.
as an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and 'dishonesties' that jehovah's organization is permissive toward pedophiles.

Well I wonder why Losche didn't want to testify to these lies in court. I think that would of been far more appropriate. -

Child Safeguarding Policy
by Newly Enlightened ini don't know if y'all have this yet or not.
i'm still having issues with this new site and i am unable to post photos & files, so here is the link to the pdf file.

I can't really understand why Wt had to play dumb ass with Katie kitten and not hand over their child safeguarding policies. I think if anything they could of benefited by being able to prove that they were been proactive in the matter and also handling it in an open and transparent way. -

A coming out story to my mother.
by JennyBoo inso i actually came out to my mother a few days ago.
told her how i really felt about being a jw (jehovah's witness) and how i wasn't straight.
i wasn't surprised by the disapproving response i got because really, i wasn't expecting any more.

Bali Nine
by smiddy intheir are two australian guys scheduled for execution in indonesia in the very near future for drug smuggling , they were the ring leaders of seven others involved.this happened a number of years ago when the australian authourities notified their indonesian counterparts that drugs were to be smuggled out of indonesia into australia by australian citizens .. some argue , why didn` t the australian authourities simply arrest these people on arrival in australia where no capital punishment is on the agenda .. by all accounts they have now been on death row for many years and have turned their lives around , being role models to other prisoners and changing their lives .. i personally have mixed feelings about all this and would like your input .. should these two be executed ?.
should they spend the rest of their life in an indonesian jail .
should they be given an alternative sentence .?.

I have visited Bali and drugs are pretty much freely available (well at least the lower end). On saying that however I like to think of cause and effect. It's very well known the position on drugs in Indonesia, and they took the risk fully knowing this. If you think of the thief who was hanging on the stake (sorry for my JWism. I can't help it) next to Jesus. Sure he to was sorry for what he had done and wanted to turn his life around that's why he asked Jesus to remember him in paradise. But this didn't elevate him from responsibility. He was found guilty under Roman law of a crime and death was the punishment. -

If the goal,is not to appear as a stark raving mad apostate. I would Suggest drawing parallels between the 2 above news articles and the video he asked you to watch. To be honest I have had quite good results with helping dubbies unknowingly to think about TTATT. 1stly they can read it with out closing their minds off as its a news article. 2ndly at face value it has nothing to do with the witnesses. It's not until you start digging beneath the surface that you realise that the issues facing the mormon church are exactly the same with the witnesses. Anyway good luck to you.
