If the WTS wants to be alive for a long time, they will have to do what other Christian denominations do: $$upport their leaders and TRAIN them, with secular studies, including psychiatric training AND guarantee them 100% legal help. Elders should be completely capable to handle every aspect a congregations presents before them, 24/7; they shouldn't be working from 9-5 and then go rushing home to get realdy for a half ass prepaired meeting.

Excellent response Dawg.
It's sad that JWs don't realize that if the WTS actually WAS directed by Jehovah, these abuses would be dealt with the harshest discipline; even by insisting that authorities put these sickos in jail.
When a religious organization puts image in front of justice, can it really be from God?

This is just an observation: The WTS focuses on the memorial of Jesus' death, emphasizing who are the ONLY ones to take part on it but in the days following the memorial, they do not make an issue of Jesus' resurrection. Why? They ought to.

The concept of being faithful to God no matter how tragic our lives are in order to prove Him that we really love him, never made sense to me. If you are a parent, would you expose your child to terrible pain just to see if he will still love you at the end of the test? Surely not. The only thing any human who was abused by his parents would ever have at the end is hate. Then why does God do it to us?

Regarding "The End Is So Close" Thread
by senora ini just had another take on that thread, so i decided to start a new one.. i've been going to the meetings off and on lately, so for the ones of you who haven't been in a while, you would not believe how much the the borg is constantly repeating that phrase over and over again.
its like they are trying to spook everyone out.
so everyone is constantly saying that phrase over and over, and i mean everyone.

Just got this email
by Cindi_67 ini received an email from my sister in law.
she was relating an experience given in a talk at an assembly.
a young couple wanted to have children, but they couldn't conceive, so they decided to adopt a child.

I think any adoption agency would deny a child to perspective parents who want to cancel an adoption process in order to preach.
Also, regarding the rapist/murderer, how does the policy know that there was another girl the rapist didn't attack? It sounds like the police was watching everything. In that case, they could have stopped the crime in the first place.

I was only good for the book study
by heyfea ini was never picked to be in a part in the assemblies.
i was not worthy for such functions, unlike the usual suspects: pioneers, bethelites, the single elderly sister who pioneered despite her illnesses, etc.
yet, the same elders who never recommended me for any part in the assemblies, expected me to participate in the book study like there was no tomorrow, especially when they were stuck with a boring group like mine.

Thanks. Besides, now that I think about it, what's so great about having a part in an assembly?

(I think my previous post didn't post) I was never picked to be in a part in the assemblies. I was not “worthy” for such functions, unlike the usual suspects: pioneers, bethelites, the single elderly sister who pioneered despite her illnesses, etc. Yet, the same elders who never recommended me for any part in the assemblies, expected me to participate in the book study like there was no tomorrow, especially when they were stuck with a boring group like mine. Only in those instances they considered me to be knowledgeable, experienced, practically a veteran in the “truth”. I was only good to help the conductor make it through the study without falling asleep.

What is the HIDDEN purpose of the Watchtower corporation?
by Terry inwhy does the average man or woman on the street only have a vague awareness of who jehovah's witnesses are and what they stand for?
isn't it weird they know next to nothing after over a hundred years of door to door work???.
ask yourself why this has been such an ineffective ministry.. one actor, tom cruise, has raised more awareness about his own religion (scientology) than all the watchtower magazines placed at a million households.

http://www.freeminds.org/psych/hiddenmessage.htm thank you for condensing some of the article Terry. There is one point that many people do not realize and is that the apostles in their letters to congregations never REALLY emphasized PREACHING work. They encouraged the brothers to have plenty of things to do in the Lord, but didn't that include good deeds instead? Or at least a substantial part of their work in the Lord? Why is it that today the GB NEVER encourages the dubs. to actually do good deeds, TO EVERYONE, not only to those JWs in need. Never a collection, never a food drive, never volunteer work for YMCA, Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc.
