How many ex-jws move out of town to start over?
by rebel8 ini was wondering how common it is for ex-jws to relocate after leaving the borg in order to escape the bad memories of being in a cult, or to break contact with cult members.. i have wanted to move far away for as long as i can remember--even as a kid--for this purpose.
various life circumstances have delayed that--long story--but mr. rebel8 and i are thinking of moving within the next few years.
i am the one who's most interested in moving to a completely different type of place--different culture, different climate, different everything!

Breaking up with spouse, why?
by greendawn infor those that broke up with a boy/girlfriend or a spouse, how do you know that you made the right decision?

In my case it was because she and her mother were certified nuts.
And in another case because I wasn't in love.

Well it was a real let down. My taste buds have started getting weird from the radiation so the flavor was off.
<sigh>
This means it will be late fall before I can taste again.

Oh can I tell you an Asti Spumante story?
Back before I was a JW I was in the Navy and stationed in Italy. A buddy and I went to a local "fair" while there and they had the game where you knock the milk bottles over and the prize was Asti Spumante. The thing is Italians don't play baseball much and thus don't throw much. We gathered a crowd around us as we pitched side by side and took that game over and over and collected many bottles of Spumante.

Tween is right. It is some sweet to reach the point where you don't ever think of meetings or conventions.
A toast to that! <clinking Asti Spumante glasses>

They are looking for a gift even though you are obviously out. If they met you in the street you would not be acknowledged.
Do not acknowlege them.
I disagree based on this. Don't play by their rules. We aren't the sort to judge and shun people because we have broken free from the FDS mind control. So if they expect me to play by their rules and make it comfortable for them in a store or elsewhere, that won't happen.
Force them to have to be uncomfortable following the FDS
Be the nice person you are and send the gift - what is that scripure in Proverbs? "A gift at the right time breaks bones" You're kind actions might help the family rethink.

My last convention they had a demo of a young couple who needed help in deciding where to go on a vacation. So they consulted the bound volumes. I couldn't take it. They were wanting us to completely scoop out the grey matter of our skulls and replace it with the bound volumes or in other words be completely mentally bound to the FDS.
Good for you and your decision.
