my 13-year old son is with his jw mom this weekend but he just popped by to grab his baseball mit and to tell me (lol) that since his mom is making him go to the memorial tonight, he's going to eat the bread.

he's a great kid but he has no sense of fear.

they excused her conduct because she was bi-polar (like that really means she's lost her brain cells ).

I HATE that! I had a friend who left the org, and her elder husband. He told everybody she was bi-polar and thats the reason she left!!!!!!!!

I remember when my ex mother in law went to the memorial one year people where talking to her, and one sister was persistant in talking to her, anyways i was trying to whisper to the sis that she was disfellowshiped. The sis thought i was whispering that she was deaf and tried talking to her louder, so loud the old bag got embarrased and started crying.

She really wasnt DF, in fact she didnt know what she was since she only went to the memorial. She just liked saying she was so we would feel sorry for her.

upon my leaving this morning.

a very nice, theocratic 4-door suv pulls up and out get 4 males, three adults, one child, all dressed in their saturday morning finest.

the look on the child's face, (he looked to be about 8) was one of misery.

Perhaps, but it prepares the kids for one heck of a career as salesmen. I've never let a "no" get me down. I simply move on to the next prospect.

And thats what most JW's end up doing.

I am still amazed at this brotherhood

i was talking to a very good friend yesterday, and realized something that has been hinted on in a few other threads, but i think that this needs to be pointed out for the newbies and lurkers sake.. in the organization, we were told that if we left the "truth", then we would have nothing and no-one to go to, we would lose this worldwide brotherhood of over 6 million people.

many of us would lose our families.. but here, in cyberspace, we have all found something very special.

we have found this amazing place where we can voice our doubts, talk about our beliefs, be ourselves, and not have to worry that we will be cast out.

I remember that. They would say that we were too odd to be around "worldly people" and to worldly to be around JWs. That there would be nowhere to go!

That was a lie..

I agree there is more happiness here where truth is found and shared. People who care because they want to and not because they have too.

I have found more honesty here in the last year than 12 years in the borg. Glad you have also.

i?m taking the leap, literally!

on saturday i?m going sky diving for the very first time!

i?m going with a group of about 30 people (we will be getting a group discount) and will be doing a tandem jump.

New Announcement At The Memorial?

i was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about an announcement to be made at the memorial this year?

my family is repeatedly pressuring me to go and the newest approach is that they've heard about an announcement, never made before, that concerns innactive ones or ones who have fallen away,, that is all that they would tell me.

are they going to come find and disfellowship us unless we go back or can we now come back "no questions asked" (yah right)?
