Placing all doctors on pedestals and stating that a parent who disagrees or wishes to try alternate therapies is deluded is no different than stating that the wts is always right and disagreeing with them makes one an apostate.

This dad is obviously well-read and has researched the science. Just because a doctor prefers a different course of action does not make the parents wrong.

Stop being so judgmental. It's not your child and unless you know this man personally you have no business trying to decide what's influencing him or what type of person he is.

i haven't really been on here in like, a year.

my stbx introduced me to this site and then a whole buch of life happened and i just sort of never had time for forums.

but here i am at 3am, another sleepless night, and i feel like i am simply lost.

awhile a go i was uptight about a matter i can't remember now and my friend said to me " give the other side the victory".

a while ago my little boy was getting uptight and argumentative with his mum i asked him " to let it go" in effect i suppose " giving the other side the victory".

anyway i am sure our life exsperiences have allowed us both receive and give good advice.

Ripple Effect

on tuesday i was dragged out on service with my mom since shes a permanent pioneer, and once we arrived at the hall i realized there were no brothers, but an abundance of sisters.

i conducted the service meeting with ease, since my dad gave me a formation on how to do it.. then on thursday at my meeting nearly half of the congregation surrounded me and gave me hugs and kisses.

i know about love bombing, its happened to me before, but this was the most insane amount of it ever since i had a demonstration at the district convention.

DataDog - They may like you, but they do not love you. They don't really know what love is. They "love" you because your actions reinforce their delusions. You make them feel all warm and fuzzy. They feel safe and their doubts ( all JWs have them) and cognitive dissonance are lessened. As soon as you fail to serve that need and supply their emotional blanket by repeating the GB's ideas as truth, you will be the enemy.

My relative's cong seems to spend all their free time together...it's like they're scared to actually have a life. Sad, really, as they stay so tightly wound together that no real light of awakening can shine in. And yes, their eldubs keep it going that way on purpose as they spearhead lots of these gatherings.

Should some people actually be Witnesses?

it seems to me like certain people actually benefit from joining the religion.

primarily i'm thinking of ones with drug problems who are only able to quit because they are working towards baptism.

another example would be those who are always getting in fights or who have a big ego, and who learn to be pacifistic and humble as a witness.
