when i was in field service and someone would ask me about it i would just change the subject.. however i have been reading alot of info lately here about how wonderful jesus is and how he is a direct representation of what god the father would be.
Something tells me there will not be many. There just does not seem to be a logical way to explain the many barbaric laws and actions that were somehow viewed as fair and upright. I don't even want an acceptable answer I would jsut like a window into the thinking of someone that can justify these things. Personally I was just fine with ignoring the fact that it happened or I made excuses.
I would say the typical "Gods thougts are higher than our thoughts and Gods way are higher than ours". All the while knowing it was a copout

However I see absolutely no way that one can really believe this in the deepest part of their mind. It really troubles me that it is never really andf fully explained by anyone. Then again I never tried to logically explain it either.
I have a neighbor around the corner who is a preacher and we talked, he told me that the Old Testament is not for Christians so he doesn't concentrate on the intricate details of a failed religion. This statement made no sense and I just got frustrated and began talking about needing a new water softener.

If you think about it, why would Jebus not want to watch something with violence or sex or foul language.
After all I bet he didn't leave the room when:
1. His dad murdered all those kids
2. Killed all those animals
3. Performed magic before the egyptians
4. Aided David in killing Goliath
5. Just watch as his brothers had sex with all those humans (wasn't angels having sex with humans just as bad as a human having sex with an animal ROFL)
6. Watched the prostitute get chopped up
7. Watched Phineas stick some guys nutsack with a spear.
8. Many other horrible acts that are far worse than watching a dog kiss a woman
Honestly Jesus might just get out some popcorn and tell you to crank it up.

Second of all something tells me if I did invite Jesus he would be hella late and the food would be cold.

we all are on our separate journeys, some of us are undecided, some unconvinced, others no longer believe in the cult but now in another religion, or lost complete belief in deities.. i don't know how beneficial these atheists threads are to new comers, perhaps it would be more difficult to accept certain information, for example scientific methods and understandings rather than different interpretations of the bible, this was the case with me at the start of my journey from leaving this jw cult.. when i left i bought many bibles, some expensive interlinears and commentaries, today my reading material mainly consist of science and social political issues, how i have changed.
i am happy that i will die knowing i won't have all the answers, i know none of you will even if you believe in invisible parents.
my views changed so much that not only do i no longer believe in deities but also the hate i have towards a fiction god of pure evil that many claim to be good.. but one thing i do know, is that it's too much for me to believe in a book who we don't know the authors, that has inconsistencies and errors, and that somehow didn't speak bad about roman authority at the time ****yink*** ***yink****.. remember what jesus said, pay to caesar what belongs to caesar?

i realized this about myself yesterday.
i was noticing how on a thread i thought about commenting on, i held back out of a fear i still have of speaking out against the governing body.
i have been disrespectful to the god of the bible and openly proclaimed i do not think he exists.
Comatose if you think about it, it makes total sense that you feel that way.
After all if you were to tell the brothers in the congregation that you think GOD is mean and evil they will pray with you and have someone work with you.
However, if you were to tell them that you think the Governing Body is mean and evil you will be disfellowshipped.

As I read it I thought to myself surely she is joking. By the third comment I noticed that no one was kojing and that it was serious business to these guys. No one asked her why she would watch the show with her kids in the first place but I guess that is another story
