the following is a letter to the editor from this morning's local newspaper.
i haven't vetted any of this, and i don't know the writer of it.
You don't need religion to be ethical.
Religion has supported slavery. Paul even told runaway slaves to return to their masters.
Religion has supported gender inequality.
Religion has supported genocide, massacre and warfare.
Religion has oppressed advances in all fields, especially the sciences.
are the governing body, 8 pope-ettes, just jealous?.
what group of people doesn't want their finest minds to be educated?

Thnx Lois for bringing up this subject. At least I know I'm not insane. When I tell my family that the society condemns higher education, they tell me that I didn't understand the talk. English is my first language. I don't need someone translating a talk I just heard in English. Btw. I think it is the height of hypocrisy. The Watchtower Society uses lawyers, architects, a complex logistics system, the latest printing technology which are all products of higher education. When new methods of bloodless surgery methods are discovered they make so much noise about it. Then they have the gallery to condemn higher education.

if so how much did you give?
i know an elder who's a chiropractor and he generously gives $400-800 a month to the society.
My mom who is currently retired keeps making heavy pledges with money she really doesnt have. I'm like whatever, don't tell me about it.

Why should we give these people the slightest attention? Their use of expressions like "We understood that", "It is reasonable to conclude that" only goes to prove that they are not more inspired than you or me. Their claim to be God's only chanel here on earth is blasphemous. I don't know why rank.and file witnesses don't see that.

it's not only springsteen's latest song that is inaccurate, but bethel certainly doesn't look after it's own.. i know it's very easy for us to what to criticise bethel after our experiences, but if we are reasonable with the wbts and approach this with an open mind, can we conlude it's fair how bethelites are treated?.
i know with any company if an employee breaks the rules, they have to leave.
