As others above mentioned, if certain individuals in the congregation are really pushing the matter of baptism, just have her tell them that getting baptized is a serious and life long decision and that they are not ready to make that decision just yet, and leave it at that.

For those who don't see a problem with TM purchasing that quantity of alcohol, or alcohol in general. One must remember that those who are leaders of a group are held to a much higher standard than those they lead, especially when they preach against the dangers of what they caught at doing. TM claims to be of the anointed, and he will come back as a spirit being to kill off people at Armageddon, yet, on the other hand, is preaching about things people do what will cause them to miss out during the big A, and alcoholism being part of it. How many people have gotten disfellowshipped, and their lives ruined for this very offense? I can actually see lawsuits started because of this unless the Watchtower decides to throw TM under the proverbial bus.

I wonder if he is going to be removed as a GB now? The Watchtower will have to try to save face.

is it possible to merge old account?
by orange poppy ini posted here years ago under another account, but am unable to log in anymore under the old name.
is it possible to merge accounts?
or is it best to just start fresh?.

I found it easier to just start fresh. I too had originally posted here under a different name, but because of other things (life has a way of taking over) and moving, I forgot my log in information. One thing I did though was in one of my earlier post under my current username, I let others know who I was previously.

Dmitry, welcome to the group, and nice to meet you. Your written English is very good. I live in the southern middle part of the United States. Was baptized in 1987 and officially made my exit from the Watchtower back in 2001, just one month before everything went a little crazy that year. I remember how the local JWs in my area all thought that it was Armageddon happening because of 9-11, but what I was thinking why because horrible things happened all over the world but they never gave it a single thought until it hit close to home.
I never got a chance to read the book by R. Frantz. I want to, just haven't had the opportunity to. What actually woke me up to it all, I had some personal things going on in my life, that forced me to really take a hard look at this religion that I was raised up in, and realized that they were nothing but a bunch of liars. It all started for me when they told my mother that if she became a baptized witness back in the early 1970s, she would be reunited with her baby girl (who had died) when this old system of things would pass away in the fall of 1975.

Idiotic Comment
by FedUpJW ini was just enjoying a you tube video clip of george carlin explaining euphemisms.
one of the ones he commented about is how people try to soften the fact someone is dead by saying, "they passed away.
" noo...they died!.

One of the terms I was raised up with was when an animal's life ended (usually by my dad's 22) he would use the term "put down" meaning for their death. There for a while, I also used that term, but not anymore, and for this reason.
I have two sons, and when they were younger this was a term they also associated with the death of an animal. Then one day one of the cats jumped up on the table, and I told my youngest to put the cat down. He looked at me with the most horrified expression. No mom, I don't want the cat killed. It took me a moment to get what he was thinking, and I had to clarify, "Not put the cat down but put the cat down on the floor." lol

I never understood what they mean when they tell people to go back where they came from, and most of the time those people they are telling it to are born US citizens, and even their parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were born in the country as well, and might have also defended the country as well. If someone ever told me that (and they have when I was an active JW), I ask them where I should go, because I was born in Texas, and my bloodline has been in this country since before the 1700s, and further. My dad's family had Cherokee, Choctaw, Scottish, British, English, and my mom's side Irish, German, and Chinese. So I asked them where should I go? Plus I also told them that my grandfather (mother's side) fought against the Germans and Japnese in WW2, my dad served as well in a later time.

He did, but he saved his money and paid cash for it, so no car payments. He's very wise when it comes to money, even more so than his parents.
